Cancellation Policy Needs A Revision

NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- I have never written a review on a store before; however, after the way Walmart.com handled my order I could not leave this stone unturned. After reserving a Playstation 4 in August, I waited till the console came out which was mid November. When I ordered the console I was told that I will receive it close to launch or several weeks after. I was okay with that knowing that I could have placed the order much earlier to have an earlier date. However not knowing that when I put my credit card information in I had written the wrong expiration date.

Yes I am aware this is my own mistake, but are we not all human? This must have happened to a lot of people or has happened in the past. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. Anyway, Walmart does nothing to get in contact with me for my item. Instead they cancel it and I'm out of luck. With such a high demand for this product now I'm out of a PS4 in the holidays for my son and Walmart could only apologize and not do anything about it. Billing never sent any e-mails or called me. They never made an attempt to get the correct information from me. WHY would they, they have plenty of other customers on line for the PS4.

So they kicked me to the curve and did no care one bit if I got it or not. Is that customer care? No type of procedure was in place to make sure the customer item was ship to them. I would not advise anyone to reserve a highly demanded product with them. I would buy elsewhere.

Ridiculous Business Practice and Process

COPRORATE -- Walmart is a pathetic excuse for a company. They completely screwed up my pre-order for a PS4, and canceled it at the last minute due to THEIR mistake. After multiple lengthy conversations with their customer service department, and a long drawn out email battle, they admitted it was their fault, basically said "Oh well" and flat out said there's nothing they're going to do about it.

Walmart is a ridiculous example of modern business practice, and is full of half wit, incompetent employees from the bottom all the way to the top. What a joke. I will never shop at any of their stores again; nor will any member of my family. I will gladly pay more for any item at any other store rather than give them another penny of my money.

Better Hope They Don't Send the Wrong Product

WEBSITE, OHIO -- I ordered a 64 GB Apple iPad (new). They shipped a 16 GB (refurbished). I called the local store and they cannot take tablets back. So I called the Walmart web store. They told me they would ship another one out right away after I signed the electronic signature that I would sent the incorrect item back. I did right away, within minutes. As of the following day I still have no information as to when my item will be shipped, nothing. I have called several times.

I offered to pay for overnight shipping 'cause I have trip to take the next day. They cannot do that on iPads! So now my trip has been canceled, costing me way more than the iPad itself!!! The iPad was a gift to a person I was going to see. Now I have to wait here for the item to be shipped, whenever that will be, and be here to send the wrong item back! Horrible experience! I understand people make mistakes, however the company should fix their mistake ASAP!

Failure to Accept Faulty TV

MERIDIAN, MISSISSIPPI -- Lightning struck our house in July and we had to replace many of our appliances - all of our TVs. We bought a Vizio ($511) from Wal-Mart on Hwy 19 in Meridian, MS. We thought we had a 90 day return program. We were not interested in returning the TV, because we like Vizio. We do not play tapes or DVDS very often.

Recently, we decided to play a tape (color) and a DVD (color) in our tape player. It was in black and white. We replaced the tape player and it was still in black and white. Several people checked the TV and told us it was something faulty with the TV. Today we tried to return the TV and Wal-Mart would not accept it telling us there was a 15 day period of time. Do you know how we can solve this problem? We are stuck with a TV that costs $511.

LANCASTER, SOUTH CAROLINA -- First of all I like Wal-Mart, enjoy shopping there. This is the issue that I have. My son purchased a flat screen TV for me for my Birthday - had the TV for ninety days. The TV blinked out continuously. Tried to take the TV back. Customer Service gave me a print out to the name of the TV brand and who I need to contact. THE TV WAS PURCHASE from Wal-Mart. I did not go to Sanyo or Emerson to get the TV - it was was from Wal-Mart and I think they should be responsible. I do not want the money. I prefer the replacement of the TV since it was a gift from my son.

ALBANY, GEORGIA -- I went purchase the sound bar and found one repacked. I ask the associate to open it to check it out. She refused and said I had to purchase it first and then I could open it. I got the zone manager to open it. Looked inside but couldn't look at the manual. I went on and purchased it. Got home - the mount and HDMI cable missing. I will return it but don't ever purchase a box that has been opened. I can't believe I have to purchase it before I can inspect it. I don't buy a car without test driving it. WAL-MART wake up. Stupid rule. Change it if you want me to shop with you.

STERLING, VIRGINIA -- I placed three orders using Walmart.com's Site to Store delivery service. I order two HD LCD TVs and an entertainment center - three separate orders. Of the three orders, every one had problems. The first order was for a 55" Sanyo LCD TV - it was delivered to the store on the very last date expected. When I went to install the TV, it was an open box and was missing part...

Contacting the store was a total waste of time as they are a 'separate' entity... No such thing as customer support between these two 'entities'. Contacting Walmart.com resulted in an automated response with no resolution and pretty much being ignored. I plan on returning the TV for a full refund. It was missing four mounting screws. So, it will be returned because of four stupid screws. The second TV was never even delivered - it was "lost or damaged" and was simply refunded. So I went out and bought a replacement from a different retailer altogether since Walmart is so unreliable and unresponsive.

Lastly, I purchased an entertainment center from them. It so far has not been delivered (Drop dead date for delivery is tomorrow... Not looking good so far). No tracking information is available and no updates or status is available except "we dunno"... Their service is run by a bunch of chimpanzees and they're the smart ones... This has to be one of the worst online retailer services available and if you happen to actually get your order, chances are there is something wrong with it. I will never purchase anything from Walmart.com ever again. After ordered over $1000 of merchandise and not getting ANY of it delivered in usable state, why would I ever go back and order from these nitwits again.

ALCOA, TENNESSEE -- I had bought a Wii from the Wal-Mart on Alcoa Hwy. When I got home and opened it... there was no Wii - nothing but the 2 boxes. It's supposed to come in and some papers!! I went back to Walmart and the manager wouldn't do anything about it. And basically accused me of taking the Wii out of the box. He kept the box and said that he had to investigate with loss prevention to find out what happened (understandable) and that he would call me the following Monday.

He never called and every day since I have been there and he hasn't been in. I understand that some people are thieves and that he needed to investigate the situation but I want what I paid for - at least my money back. It's not fair that I bought merchandise there and didn't receive it.

Return Policy NOT on Receipt
By -

JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI -- My husband and I returned an Xbox purchased during Christmas. I had every intention of keeping it, but my 42" TV went out that I was going to use it on. The only other TV's were much smaller and I planned to "work-out" with it. Well, apparently Walmart displays this big 90 day return policy w/ receipt and in very, very tiny print it states 15 day return policy on electronics.

This is the big problem: a) The electronic policy is not written on the receipt. b) The cashier NEVER mentioned the policy. c) NO policy is posted in the electronics department. d) I had a receipt. e) The XBOX WAS NEVER OPENED!!! f) The CSM insisted we call the warranty company about an unopened Xbox, because it was nonreturnable, according to Walmart policy. g) The cashier was told by the CSM to open the box and check the serial numbers and make sure everything was in it. DID I MENTION THAT I NEVER OPENED THE BOX!?

It took a rude CSM, asst. mgr and co-manager to understand, why I did not know of a 15 day policy. Actually the rude CSM still doesn't get it, she told me I can go now that I got my money back. Oh did I mention they didn't give me $7 back? Walmart need to do a better job of training their employees.

Excellent Customer Service

FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA -- I purchased a DVD movie from my local Walmart store. Several days later I opened the DVD to view the movie. To my surprise the container was empty. Apparently they forgot to include the disc during packaging! My first thought was "They will never believe me when I return to the store to complain." I was going to forget about it and take my loss but I thought that if I did not complain it would never be brought to their attention.

So I went back to Walmart not expecting a refund but to just let them know what had happened. To my surprise I was offered a refund or exchange with absolutely zero hassle. This happened several years ago but now whenever I need a product, if Walmart sells it I look no further.
