Walmart absolutely has no customer service

MARKHAM, ONTARIO -- I shopped at the Walmart at Canada which is at steeles and markham road for those who live there, and the service totally rots! I've bought a sofa and I asked the lady to ask for a carry out and she says "okay, ill call the person" and I wait for half an hour and no one shows up and shes back to her department wandering around. The next time I come there 2 weeks later I go to buy a snow blower which is quite big and heavy and ask for a carry out to the person and she says the same thing "okay" I wait for 15 minutes and no one shows up so just like last time I end up taking one of their big carts which are lying around when they're not supposed to and end up doing the lifting and carry out myself...this wal marts service totally sucks and no one should buy there anything large enough for a carry out or they'll end up doing it themselves!!

"Excuse me, is there someone available to help me with a carry out"?, after waiting more then 5 minutes.

Sometimes you have to help yourself, and speak up.

I just bought Cinnamon rolls from BJ's...you get eight in a pack and they were HUGE!!!!! Nuke them for 20 seconds just to melt a little of the icing and they are soooo yummy!

Beware When Purchasing A Prepaid Walmart (Green Dot) Visa Card!

I recently purchased a PREPAID WALMART (GREEN DOT) VISA CARD to make a couple online purchases. Once I tried to process a payment, the Walmart (Green Dot) boneheads declined the transaction. The funds in the account were sufficient, the purchase was an authorized transaction. There was no reason for the transaction to be declined. The reason they declined the transaction, they claim, was that it was in excess of my daily spending limit. Daily spending limit!?!? Apparently the daily spending limit is $2500. Ok, well, the purchase I was trying to make was for about $1100, and I hadn't even attempted to make any other purchases that day.

I've been back-and-forth with these Walmart/GreenDot boneheads for three days now, and they have yet to successfully process the transaction. Each time you call, you have to explain the entire situation again to a new "customer service" agent. I've been told three times now to expect a call back within a given time window. I have yet to receive a call at all. I'm waiting on the supervisor to call me back now. (yet again...)

Beware when purchasing a PREPAID WALMART (GREEN DOT) VISA CARD, do not expect a smooth transaction or competent customer service.

Interesting. What reason did they give you for declining after you pointed out that you were not near your $2500/day spending limit? Seems that should have evaporated their reason for declining the charge. I wonder how $2500 became the 'magic' amount? Very helpful post!

According to the VISA web page on these cards there is no daily limit. I did notice that the card should be used as a credit not a debit card. There is no PIN associated with the card. Using it as a debit card will cause a purchase to be rejected. Maybe that's what happened.

I don't understand your constant reference to Wal*Mart in connection with the Green Dot cards. Wal*Mart does not administer the Green Dot cards. They are reloadable, Visa or Master Cards that allow you to have a credit card without the hassle of regular credit cards. Go ahead and make your complaint about Green Dot, but leave Wal*Mart out of it. They really have nothing to do with Green Dot.

I'm sorry but if Wal*Mart puts their name on the card and they do then they should receive the complaint. If the paint on my Honda starts to flake I don't blame the paint manufacturer -- I blame Honda for choosing the paint manufacturer. So I fully understand the OP's constant reference to Wal*Mart because Wal*Mart chose to put their corporate Wal*Mart logo on the Wal*Mart green dot Visa and Wal*Mart chose to sell the cards at Wal*Mart stores so Wal*Mart can very well get the complaint about the Wal*Mart card. Wal*Mart.

LMD--*Any* store, company, etc., can put their 'name' on one of these cards. Depends on where you buy them. I buy telephone calling cards when CVS has a BOGO on them. Sprint operates the calling system but CVS is shown on the card. If I have a problem, I'm sure CVS would take care of it, right?

Crystal and I went to Wal*Mart earlier and I saw their Green Dot cards. I must apologize and I have to agree that if they are going to plaster their logo on the cards that they move for Green Dot, then they should be ready to take some of the heat. In all probability, Wal*Mart gets a few cents for every one of the cards they set up, but the majority of the card fees go to the Green Dot company, which is still not Wal*Mart I stand corrected.

First of all, any prepaid visa is not a good card to have, unless you have bad credit and are unable to get a visa check card from your bank. The prepaid cards charge a fee everytime you load money onto the card (unless you put a certain amount over 1000 dollars on the card, or have part of your paycheck direct deposited onto the card), the charge a monthly fee as well. So if you, say, put 20 dollars on a card to give to a relative for a present, whatever, they use it and think nothing of it anymore, every month they will get charged that fee on that card and when they go to reload the card, they will have to pay the fees that have accumulated plus the reload fee.

Be wary of prepaid credit cards!!

Greendot taking people money it does not matter if you buy it from Walmart or riteaid or CVS which where i bought mine in September they you buy thei card and then you come back here use it will give you back your $9.99 activation fee then i went on line did activated it had get customer service to give number they did I went online and order stuff other people like wellness watchermd and prime took money i did not comsint to with them I lost around $40.00 I not getting a check nest month so there that i aactual think I lost $50.00 since the activation I did not get back you go to your laocal bank around $5.00 you get prepaid credit card you use it after 6 month then they charge the $4.95 per month fee just like normal credit cards do but you use within the 6 month then you are not out that I AGREE IT KIND NOT WALMART FAULT BUT I THINK THEY SHOULD STAND UP FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS and help protect thme from being riped off. Walmart should get they owncredit prepaid credit card beside there instore one people might end up shopping there more if they do that

Roommate bought pre-paid Green dot at Wal-greens drug store, and then the fun began - first it was for 50.00 and after paying the fees - couldn't use it - 4 days later my roomies bank account was drained by Green Dot - and her disability check hi-jacked by green dot - and she never went online, or filled out an application mailed to her (they wanted her SSN and she wouldn't give that to anybody, under pain of death) What a hassle, reported it to BOA to get a new checking account - get a new atm card - notified the SS and made a police report! DON'T do GREEN DOT - its the most miserable experience in your life. You are warned! THEY HIJACKED HER ID and SS NUMBER FROM HER ATM CARD!

Crawfish from China

GRENADA, MISSISSIPPI -- I purchased a bag of frozen crawfish from Wal Mart, Boudreaux's Brand Crawfish Tail Meat same as I had always bought in the past however wall mart has been out for a long time 6 mo or more. I came home made my roux put the meat in and went upstairs to work. I smelled this sickening smell, worse than rotten seafood more like a sewer. the smell penetrated the whole house. I ran down stairs it was the crawfish I pulled the bag from the garbage can to see if it was spoiled,the date was good then I saw product of China in the left corner but it also had Gulf Marine Products Co., Inc Westweago, LA on the front. I think they have sold their name and endorsed this product from China. This package use to say product of LA. The crawfish growers in the US should be furious to say the least.

I am furious and sickened by wall mart and the pains they go thru trying to deceive the American People. Makes me never want to buy anything at Walmart ever again. I buy very little there now.

just last evening i purchased 4 coffee mugs. i was very careful NOT to choose ones made in china. but i wasn't careful enough, and i did bring home ones made in china. they are being returned. if they put lead paint on childrens toys, i am sure a coffee mug has less priority.

there was a day when walmart was all american made, now it is china.

I always look for 'country of origin' on any food product I buy. I don't buy foods produced in countries where I could not safely drink a glass of tapwater. China and Mexico are at the bottom of my food safety list, whether or not the products are sold at Wal Mart or the hoi-poloi gourmet shop down the street. The OP should write to the Louisiana company and scold them for purchasing Louisiana-labelled 'bugs' from China. The practice is borderline deceptive.

It seems the masses don't want to pay a fair price for groceries. Within six months of the grand opening of our wal*mart supercenter three long time independent grocers went out business. We got three choices... Wal*mart, Homeland (another big corp) or head out of town. I don't blame wal*mart for the decisions of the masses. I shiver to think what food will look like in the 30 years.

LMD, I think we are already being to see what the food will look like and we don't have to wait 30 years. Two grocery stores located between my home and office also went out of business after the latest Walmart opened. So many were excited and I just looked at them wondering how pleased they would be when Walmart was their only choice. Admittedly, your local grocer is now carrying products they would not have considered a few years back. It's a shame it came to that, in many cases just to stay competitive.

Doc, I've never been to China but have been to Mexico a number of times and not in a resort area. When a visitor is afraid to drink the water knowing what is going to happen that should tell everyone something. We in the U.S. still get recalls on foods produced here, and inspections also leave a lot to be desired, but as long as we still have a choice no imported food products for me from countries that make no attempt at food safety.

Thanks Designer for the refresher course for those who had to learn the hard way.

We buy just a few select items from the grocery dept. at wal-mart...I don't care for their meat at all. I do occasionally get eggs there and we have a huge Lay's factory here and that aisle is taken care of by local vendors, so I am reasonably sure that is safe to eat.

If its any indication, I won't even buy dog food at wal-mart, I get that at Petsmart.

Visa Gift Card

I purchased a Visa gift card at Walmart. The cashier never told me that I had to keep the receipt. I gave the card to a lady at my job for a secret santa gift and she couldn't even use because she needed the receipt but I threw the receipt away.

So now my money is gone. It is just 20 dollars but I could have put some gas in my car or something.

Starlord, I don't think it was an actual Wal-Mart gift card, but a third party Visa(prepaid) card. There are several reasons the card in question wasn't activated. One is that the cashier didn't do their job(by activating it), I'll leave the other reasons up to the imagination.

Wow, OP. You sure gave a lot of thought into buying a gift for the 'lady at my job'. Then, you turned around, and decided that the end of your complaint should include 'I could have put some gas in my car or something.'

I'm glad I don't work with you.

I want to apologize to Walmart and everyone who has read this post. She gave me the card back and I called CS, he gave me the activation with no problem. I am still wondering what was her problem. the visa card that is being referd to is the walmart money card prepaid visa you can add any amount from $20.00 - up and it does have a activation number on the recipt I personaly do not use them because of the high fees involved.. I have herd that people have resolved this issue by calling 01-877-965-7848 Walmarts money card customer service number

I had this same issue, and finally contacted WalMart's customer service via email on their webpage. The following is the email response I got, and this fixed the problem!! :)

We are writing in response to your inquiry about Wal-Mart VISA Money

Rude And Unprofessional. Employees And Managers

POMPANO BEACH, FLORIDA -- On 10/18/05 at 8:00 p.m., I went to the Wal-Mart at W Atlantic Blvd, Margate FL to purchase the DVD – Batman Begins special edition. It was priced at 21.88 but was sold out.

I was told by Wal-Mart staff to go up the road to the Wal-Mart @ 2300 W Atlantic Blvd, Pompano Beach FL & it would be available for purchase it at that price.

However, when I arrived at the store at 8:30 p.m., I observed that the price was $24.99. I was told by the staff that they did not change or match prices. When I asked to discuss it with a manger, the staff person called the section manager on the phone. This “manager’ named “Ted” would not even come out to talk to me. He told me on the phone that he wasn’t gonna come out to talk to me and that Wal-Mart did not lower the price to match other”Wal-Marts” I asked him about price consistency and he said that prices are not consistent. I informed him that there was a sign above the door that said Wal-Mart had 100% customer satisfaction. He told me to go back to the other Wal-Mart for that.

When I asked to speak to his boss, I heard a woman in the background say that she ain’t gonna talk to me and dat “I would only tell him da same thing.”

I requested to talk to the store manager and he informed me “dat he ain’t here and then he giggled about it. I then asked him for his name and he told me it was TED and that it was against WAL-Mart policy to tell me his last name.

I then informed him that I was going to contact Store Management about this situation and he giggled and said “go rite ahead.”

When I left there, I was propositioned by a prostitute in the Parking Lot.

Sam Walton would never allow this is he were alive. This example of unprofessional behavior should never be tolerated. I will never shop at Wal-Mart again. You people lie, there is no such thing as 100% customer satisfaction at Wal-Mart and your sales people are rude and unprofessional.

You know, prices do fluctuate. Perhaps you need to take a course in basic economics. Considering the fact that the Batman Begins video just came out and the demand for it is pretty high, it's reasonable that they will raise the price of it in a short amount of time.

This has gotten so old. Every person who says they will never shop at Wal-Mart ever again usually ends up going back in less than a week.

I just about spit coffee on the screen when I read the part about the prostitute! Not to take away from the point of this compliant, but that just kills me. Sorry for your trouble, sir - the best thing you can do is not patronize that particular store; just say no to prostitutes, and get buy movies from Amazon.com. (shameless plug)

I live in the middle of 5 Wal-Mart stores. There are two that I always go to and they are different in price as night is to day. If I can't find it at one, I go to another. The way I see it is that the one in KY has no sales tax on food and the one in TN does. The Ky stores food is a bit more expensive, probably to make up for the sales tax. I always go to the one in TN because the food is less and the selection is better and the store is closer. None of the stores price match between them. This also goes for the gas prices.

I work for wal-mart (one of the DCs). You are right. Ever since Mr. Sam Walton died, wal-mart has went down hill.When I first started working for wal-mart I was proud of it. Now, no one cares about anything anymore. It used to be such a family company and people did care. But, now there isn't anything to back that up. I get treated like that all the time at the store. The best advise I can give you is to call the main office in Bentenville, Arkansas. It more than likely will not do any good, but maybe you could try. I'm sorry for your experience at wal-mart. Hopefully it will give you piece of mind to know that not everybody that works for wal-mart is a complete jerk. Thank you. Christy

bill, it's not wmsales_assoc's attitude that's goofy here, it's RonMark's. When he went to the second store and was told by an associate they don't price match why didn't he accept that answer and buy the d*m DVD at the price they showed? No--he had to continue with his 'I'm gonna get you, sucka' by jerking around a couple more people in the store. Yeah--good ol' Sam. He was a peach. In his book he admits he kept walking up to shoppers insisting on 'helping' them because he said he could wear them down and convince them to buy something. Sure it was good for his bottom line, but if the old koot had followed me around pestering me, he'd have soon been a soprano! I don't work for WalMart but I do a lot of my discount shopping there and I many times wonder how the employees can keep themselves from giving customers like Ron a smack in the chops.

Bill, I've tried to find work elsewhere, but nobody else wants me, even though I'm an excellent employee with a strong work ethic. I find it hard to get up somedays because I know I have to go into that hellhole and be harassed and yelled at all day long by customers and management. I like working, just not at Wal-Mart.

I agree with wmsales_assoc. I no longer work retail, but did for many years. I started it when I was still in school & had a positive attitude in the beginning, but that faded in time due to rudeness from customers. I got to the point where I could not have cared less about them. Whether or not they left happy meant absolutely nothing to me. If a rude person said that they would not shop there again, I was like good, I'm glad you're out of my life! But sadly, more times than not, they did not keep their promise. They were back in there the following day spreading their sunshine around.

In summary, customers are usually what causes a worker to become 'rude', because it gets to them afterawhile & they get to the point where they just do not care.

It's hilarious to hear how customers will drive all over the place just to save a buck or two. Never mind the gas that was spent and the wear on the car doesn't count. I know, it's just the principle isn't it? yea right. I can only hope I never had that much time on my hands that I have nothing else to do but go around complaining to employees that have no say in the prices or the policies.

The Wal-Mart in Jerseyville IL screwed me for a $50 wireless network card I cannot use.
I bought a router, and a wireless network card, because they did not have a ethernet network card.
I brought home both boxes, and found the Wireless card was missing from the box!!! So I took it back, and used my receipt. Yes, they DID give me another box, and made sure it wasn't empty.

OK, the card quit working the following morning, so I ordered a ethernet card from Dell.
I could not use the card Wal-Mart sold me, so I wanted a refund. The service desk told me I could not get a refund, because I returned an empty box!!! It wasn't MY fault the box was empty!! I shook it, and it felt like it had something in it, but that was just another empty (smaller) box!!

So, I am stuck with a $50 wireless card.

Wal-Mart sucks. I won't shop there unless I have no other choice.

Good internet service provider

I signed up for Walmart Connect internet provider service for the free trial. I thought the serive was very good and had no problems at all. I have installed this service for many of my aol friends and they have thanked me for it. They love the low cost and have better luck than with other ISP's.

I recommend picking up a disk at your local Walmart store and at least trying it out for free. If you don't like it then call and cancel. When I cancelled they didn't hassle me and were very polite and accomodating. The reason I cancelled was becaue I already had a pre-paid ISP and didn't want two service. AS it they gave me three months for free before cancelling the account.

How I Was Forced to Quit

LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE -- I worked at Walmart for almost 6 months. I was forced to quit due to management not having the ability to listen to what I had to say. I worked with a guy the whole time I was there. We worked in the deli. It was fine when I first started, I thought well...He is nice, we will get along good. Well, less than a week after I started, he started hitting on me. He asked me out all the time, always wanting me to come over to his house, and he even bought me clothes in hopes that I would go out with him. I didn't want to to the clothes and really did not want to date him but he got angry when I said no thanks. So I just took them.

At first I thought it was just a crush, and that he would get over it after a while...but I was wrong. I tried to explain to him that I was engaged to a man that I loved with all my heart. We have been together for a year and a half and that he was my whole life. Well, he kept on and he was always talking bad about my guy. Then he got himself a girlfriend. I was really glad, I thought, "he is finally gonna leave me alone." But he only kept her for a week and the whole time he was with her he begged me to break up with my guy and he would break up with is girl. I keep refusing to go out with him.

Finally, one day he went to our store manager and told him that I sexually harassed him. He said that I choked him, slapped him, rubbed myself on him, said nasty things toward him, and I threatened him if he didn't go out with me. When I got called to the AD office, I was in shock that he would even say things like that. I had never once made any kind of attempt toward him. I tried to explain to management what had really been going on and I also told them that the reason that I hadn't went to them about him before was because I never took it seriously. I never would have thought he make up all these lies on me. He just didn't seem like that type. The manager didn't even care what I had to say about the situation. He said, in these exact words, "Whenever an associate comes to me about this type of thing, He is in right and the accused one is guilty. And 99.9% of the time the accused one, in this case is you, is terminated." He didn't even listen to my side of the story, the right side. He told me to go home and he would call me tomorrow and let me know what he was going to do.

Well 4 days later he had someone else call me. I came in and he flat out called me a liar and sent me home and said he would call me the next day. And of course he never called. So that Thursday when I went to pick up my paycheck, I was going to go talk to him, but he was not there. So I went home, then a little while later, I decided to call my assistant manager. He said that the store manager wanted to talk to me the next day. I asked him if he was going to fire me and he didn't want to say...but he finally told me that he was. So I quit. I mean how would sexual harassment look on a job application? I think this treatment is unfair and I wished that there was something that I could do to stop it. If anyone has any comments or can help me...PLEASE let me know so that this treatment can stop.

You have witnesses that heard and saw what he was doing to you? If not, its his word against yours. If you do have witnesses go to the police and file a police report then go consult a lawyer who specializes in sexual harassment cases.

Hello Everybody,

I am writing this to voice my frustration and aggravation about how Walmart now handles its customers. Guess what everybody, WE DO NOT MATTER TO THEM ANYMORE! I am a mother of 3 children, 14, 3, and 2. My husband is a truck driver and is not home all week long so this leaves me to take care of everything. I have always shopped Walmart because when you have to drag out a 2 and 3 year old, one stop shopping is easiest. I spend over $30,000 a year in the Walmart Stores; however, I am now boycotting and will refuse to give this store any more of my hard earned money in hopes that more people who feel the same way I do will follow.

Let me explain why I was such a devoted shopper and now I refuse to step foot in their store. Before I begin, Yes I smoke. Sorry but it is not against the law and I am over the age of 21. I am in the process of quitting but it's not easy when you have smoked for 20 years. Now, Walmart has recently changed its policy that you can only buy cigarettes in one isle due to theft and under-age consumers. THIS I UNDERSTAND; however, they have made this line for 10 items or less, NO EXCEPTIONS. As I stated earlier, I have a 2 & 3 year old that I have to drag to the store and I prefer getting all of my items, groceries, diapers, pet supplies, etc. at the same location so that I don't have to drag screaming babies from store to store. Now in order for me to buy cigarettes, I first have to purchase all of my items at one register, and then drag all of my items and Now screaming kids to another register to get cigarettes. I REFUSE. I understand the whole concept of theft and minors buying cigarettes and that something has to be done but when I asked why the cigarette line has to be 10 items or less, they said it was so that the people just buying cigarettes didn't have to wait in line.

So let me get this straight, I am spending $300.00 in one shop, over $2000.00 a month, but the person who is spending less than $5.00 is getting the quality service. Does this make sense. Come on Walmart, How hard is it to change this stupid idea of yours of having the one check-out that carries cigarettes from a 10 items or less or more items. Or better yet, why not appease both consumers and open a check-out next to the other one that is more than 10 items. When I asked this question, the response was that their CSR's who do nothing but stand there and watch their cashiers, could not watch both registers at the same time. Guess what, if they can't then maybe you should be hiring someone who is capable of watching 2 things at once.

After going through all this I figured I would still shop there even though it was an inconvenience, but 2 days later when my husband and I went in, we overheard the manager discussing the situation with another manager. In the discussion, the one manager said that it really didn't matter what the customer's wanted that they would all be back no matter what. After overhearing that I am outraged that this corporation that Sam Walton had good intentions of, is being torn to shreds. They have no regards for their employees or their consumers. They don't CARE what we think. Well let's just see when it gets them where it hurts, THEIR WALLETS. I know that have just lost $30,000 a year from me. And I know that smart people will soon follow.

Guess what Walmart, we do not need you. Just a little information, since K-mart has been having trouble, their prices are now LOWER than yours so I prefer shopping there anyway. So if anyone in K-marts corporation is listening, hang in there because I am sure that your business is getting ready to rise.

I don't smoke but I understand your frustration. I too would be royally peeved if I walked into a store and overheard the manager talking that way about their customers. That tells you right there that they don't care about the customers, and a company/store that doesn't care about a customer doesn't deserve the business.

I agree with your point of view. It is the principle that matters here. The customer is always right. I would have gone in the appropriate aisle for nonexpress item checkout and just before it is totalled say "AND I'll have a pack of Such and Such!" Let the cashier do the 500 yard dash for them!! Try that if you ever go back. Also mail in a written complaint. They will send you a $10 store credit to keep you happy. Gosh- $30,000 a year!!!!!!!!!! That's a big loss for them!! And perhaps I should become a trucker!!

Sorry, I agree that what the managers said was wrong, but the whole basis of this letter was to complain about your own laziness. I am six months pregnant and have a 2.5 year old daughter, I shop at walmart, but I buy my cigarettes at the gas station because they are usually cheaper, and it is just easier all around.

Thank God it's on pone lane!! do you know how many time the express was held up because the cashier had to walk all the way over to that lane to get the cigs that the customer decide was too much!??? Yes, it is cheaper some place else!! Wal~ mart is doing it's best!! Maybe you should work with the customers and see what you will think then!!! Your babies are nothing compared to what goes on in a store 24/7!! Think about it!!

For all you people with your nasty comments I have this reply. Number 1, I am not lazy, they won't let you walk up and get your cigarettes and they won't go get them. Their registers won't even ring them up, they are unable to. As for Chad, I am not a fat @ss. I am 33 years old, with 3 children and weigh only 115. I bet you can not say that. As for the others who are telling me how to raise my children, why don't you get your lazy @sses off the computer and raise your own. Here's an idea. Get the ciggarettes before doing your "thousands" of dollars worth of shopping, then you won't have to whine about not being able to get everything else at the same time afterwards. Or, like someone else suggested, get the ciggs somewhere else. I wouldn't spend more money to shop elsewhere just because I have to spend an extra couple minutes at another checkout, and walk an extra 5 feet. Then again, I wouldn't smoke either.

The purpose of having only one register selling cigarettes is to minimize underage sales. I don't think there's anything bad about this. Before you start shopping, as soon as you come into the store, why don't you purchase your cigarettes first, then do the rest of your shopping??? Hello?

I understand what you are saying about management they shoul not talk about people like that but i work at walmart and it comes from home office and no other register is able to even have cigarettes rung up on them and just imagine if the only thing you wanted was a pack of cigs just one and you had to stand in line and wait for a 300.00 dollar order to be rang you wouldnt be happy waiting for that one pack you would probably say you weren't shopping at walmart no more cause it wasnt 10 items or less (although now at our store it isn't 10 items or less)

Hello. I am sorry you had such a bad experience. Actually, no matter how many items you have you should be allowed to go through the cigarette lane. The policy is supposed to be that it is an express lane for those NOT buying cigarettes. However, if you are purchasing cigarettes you have the right to go through that lane no matter how many items you have. I would state this fact to the management of the store and force them to go by the ACTUAL Wal-Mart policy. The lack of customer service skills of some Wal-Mart employees baffles me as well. I am actually a Customer Service Manager at Wally's World and have seen and heard worse from upper management. Don't let them push you around. I would go back with my full basket and let the cashier know you are in fact purchasing cigarettes and make them check you out. Otherwise, the store will continue to do as it wishes.

This is exactly like the time I visited a legislative meeting in Victoria. All the members were acting exactly like you guys.

Anyway, the complaint was silly. You shouldn't smoke around your kids. Second hand smoke is serious. However, Chad, it doesn't mean you have to start the name-calling, okay? Plus, the Caps Lock key is that key right next to the "A". I think you get the point.

First of all, I have to say, just because someone lives in a "Moble Home", Referred to as Trailer, does not mean they're trash. That is a very inappropriate comment and you should be ashamed of yourself!!I believe we are supposed to respect each other with our comments? (Hmmm...)Unfortunately, I do not have much respect for the Walmart Corporation. I can only, afford to shop there, they ran our K-Mart out of town. They have it one week (or day), but to find it there again, is IMPOSSIBLE!! For instance, dog food. Which, of course, is the reason why I bought a steam cleaner!! (FROM SEARS)A funny thing,... I was buying paper cups at Walmart. One day I went there to do the shopping for the agency I work for. We use a lot of paper cups and they hadn't had them in a while. There was a "stock person" in the aisle, and I so stupidly asked him why they didn't have paper cups. The reply was, "We don't carry them anymore, because they are a health hazard and people do not like to re-use them." Hmm...A health hazard?? Re-use them?? What the heck is the sense of a paper cup if you are going to re-use it!!!!(I thought)That has got to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard!!So, all Walmart has to offer those of us who care about the environment, are those plastic or styrofoam cups that will never bio-degrade when they are thrown in the garbage. The last time I went to Walmart was to do the agency shopping. And par for the course, they had 2 regular registers open, and a few 20 items or less. The 2 regular ones had at least 10 people in line, with FULL carts. I was there for 40 minutes waiting to check out. And, do not buy the fish at Walmart!! They will contaminate your fishtank with things you have never dreamed of! I have been battling for almost 2 months with parasites, fungus, infection, every kind of .."site" you can think of!! Last time I was there, I was warning potential victims, of the hell they will go through, if they bought a fish, from Walmart! They do not have trained, experienced, employees to care for inventory, let alone pets. I guess that is why prices are "low"? Unfortunately, I have no choice but to shop there, for the agency I work for. But, as I shop, all I can say is, "THIS STORE SUCKS!"

Disgusted with Walmart

WOODBRIDGE, VIRGINIA -- I was shopping at the Wal-Mart located at Potomac Mills in Woodbridge VA, on the night of Feb 21, 2004. I saw a crib (Graco 3-in-1 Aspen Convertible Sleep System), was priced at 89.50. Since my wife and are having another baby and the price was great for the crib we decided to purchase it. We had it brought to the lay-a-way department so we could continue shopping. After selecting all the items that we wanted, we then headed to lay-a-way to put money down on the 89.50 crib we saw.

After putting the money down we found that we were over charged. While we were discussing with your Customer Service Representative (CRS) Jennifer, another Couple came up with the same compliant. Jennifer then contacted someone in the infants department to come for a price check. Nancy was the CRS that responded to that call. She came and told us that the price was wrong and that she had changed it, to the right price of 114.50. After Nancy came I began to questions the CRS' Nancy and Jennifer to ask them what could be done and they uttered in response " the three dollar rule".

They explained that Wal-Mart policy is only to give three dollars off the wrong price or three dollars towards the right price. They were not very clear on explaining the Wal-Mart three-dollar policy. No resolve came from this exchange so I asked for the Manager, then the CRS the assistant store managers Lisa and Sara were called to the Lay-a-way department. Lisa and Sara came together but Lisa did all the talking. I asked what they could do adjust the price and satisfy our displeasure. The ticket price had 85.50 but the actual price was 114.50.

Now after tax the price of the crib was 120.03. We would have been charged 30.50 more than what the ticket price was. No resolve came from talking to the two assistants managers, they were not helpful and they were in decisive in their statements. I believe that the Assistant Store Managers should power and authority to satisfy customers especially when they admit fault. The CSR Nancy admitted the sales price was incorrect, as did the two Assistant Store Managers.

Don't be deceptive. The difference in price was not $30. It would be less than that had you added the tax to the first price just like you did to the second. Also, store policy is store policy. Managers do not, and should not, have to make exceptions for whiny people like you. If I were in your situation I would just accept that the price was wrong and move on with my life. Walmart is not the only place that sells cribs.

To the above poster: The price of this item was wrong on the shelf. That means Wal Mart SHOULD give it to the customer at the marked price and taken the loss........it's Wal Mart's mistake, not the customer's. They fail to correctly price items, they take the loss........simple as that.

Actually, the three dollar rule means you get three dollars off the lower of the disputed prices or you get the item for free if its under three dollars. If you brought this to their attention while it was being rung up, it could have been taken care of as a standard override. You should have been given the item for $85 minus $3.

There are profit incintives for management and employees and that is the only reason that I can think of why they didn't give it to you for the lower price. Sorry guys, I think this is a valid complaint. Find another letter-writer to chew on.

If the mistake was made, WalMart should correct it by honoring the price THEY placed on the item. I am sure that you would tantrum out if the next time you got your dye job (blonde I assume) they overcharged you $30.00---or would you even notice?

That is called "false advertising." When a company has the incorrect price on an item, it is against federal law for them to charge you a different price. You should have gotten the advertised price.

Most place with give you what the tag/sign says and should. Someplace will say OOPS sorry worng sign, just to get you to the item. Bate and switch thing.

When i worked in Sales, if the tag was wrog they got the FIRST item free ( of that item) then after any item of the same will be at right price.
What you can do is also complain to the BBB, n the Att. Gen. of your State.

I just went through the same situation tonight with a Christmas tree that was displayed with the wrong price and didn't realize it until asking one of the support managers for help. She immediately ripped the tag off and told me they would take three dollars off..... the tree was marked with a big 8x10 sign $78.96 but was supposed to be $149.95. I called my sister from the store(she was an assistant manager 2 years ago and is now a manager of Hastings)and asked her Walmart's policy. She told me that the three dollar rule only applies when the item rings up wrong... if it is clearly displayed with the wrong price they are supposed to sell it for the displayed price. She also said this is what they(Walmart)calls "price integrity" and if they do not comply they can be reported to weights and measures for false advertising. Weights and measures can do a full investigation and fine them $500 per violation not to mention the hassle. This is also reportable to Bentonville. This is what I will be doing Monday morning after talking to the actual store manager. I talked to the assistant manager who offered me twenty dollars off after asking what his name was. (Who also was not wearing a name tag --- violation of their store policy.)None the less rules are rules... don't advertise what you aren't willing to sell for and know your policies of where you work...and when you make a mistake own it and make it right.

NEWTON, IOWA -- On Dec. 3rd my husband & I were shopping at your store. We had an item that did not have the computer scanning bars or price on it. I knew the price of the item, but was told that the cashier needed a code to enter it. He requested assistance from the customer service desk. After a wait of about 10 minutes the woman finally came over. He told her what he needed and she just told him to call the fabric dept. He told her he didnt have the extension number & she just repled "I dont either" and took off. He finally called over the intercom for fabrics and they called him. The woman who responded couldnt find the item. I finally had to go back there and show her where it was and get the code & pricing myself. We waited for 1/2 hour in line needing help and the customer service woman was quite rude. It seemed she didnt really want to help us. I walked up to her after we checked out and confronted her with her lack of help and was treated quite rudely by her. I was told that she did all she could do. If thats all she could do, you need to find a different customer service person. At this time of year, there should be more than 2 people at the customer service desk and more registers open for checking people out. Its too bad that your store is more interested in paying off the store and keeping their operating costs low than actually serving and helping the customers. If it werent for the customers, you wouldnt have a store!

I have had several bad experiences at Wal-Mart. I would guess that their employees are making below minimum wage. Most are rude and clueless. Sometimes I am even lucky enough to ask a "no habla" employee for help. All in all, I would have to say that Wal-Mart sucks.

The WalMart in Bastrop, Tx will suffer when Home Depot arrives (and hopefully
a Target right behind it) This store has the ABSOLUTE worst customer service
I've ever experienced. People all over town joke about it. In fact, I heard a waitress
tell a table "I'm sorry, I neglected you like a WalMart customer!!" We've heard this
joke several times around here. We drive to San Marcos or Austin to shop, whenever
possible. They've been through a few managers, from my understanding, so
it must go higher than local management. Sam is rolling in his grave, I'm sure.

Wal-Mart employees are wasting their money on the insurance they carry at work with Hartford INSURANCE(SHORT TERM AND LONG TERM)THEY WILL NOT PAY ANY BENEFITS WHEN IT IS NEEDED.

While I agree with MOST customer complaints, I get very angry at the insults hurled at WalMart associates. Sure, we have jerks working for us, but I am sure that you have them where YOU work also. Would you like to be called rude, stupid, etc. because of the actions of one or more individuals at your job? Well, either do I.

I feel that the consumers should not be treated rudely and with no respect. I have made a point to stay away from Wal-Mart, as my previous shopping experiences have been horrible. Is it so difficult to say thank you, and have a great day?

Cashiers can't take every customer's word for how much things cost...it's your own fault for picking up an item without a UPC, obviously the cashier would have nothing to scan, so what do you expect them to do? Ring it up at whatever price because you said so? If there were more of the same item with UPC's why did you grab the one without the UPC? YOu probably could have alleviated your problem if you would have notified the associate working in that dept. that there was no UPC, and they could have looked it up for you and had it ready when you went to go check out. That's probably why the associates were rude to you, because you're stupid.

well if you didnt realize though walmart is known for its rude employees so its hard not to associate it with them. If you wernt to dumb to read the initial post walmart's crappy customer service is the reason for it to beging with. And for the walmart associate who claimed she is stupid for not picking an item with no upc, the person in the department is the stupid one for putting an item out with no upc. Shoppers dont look at every product for a upc on the bottom. I dont go looking at movies and say hey what a beautiful layout of lines and numbers on that upc i think ill like the movie because the upc is so wonderful.. Its a stupid upc. So if you work at walmart, learn to show respect to the customers, and dont always be so rude and pissed just cause you work for a crappy store.

Walmart treats the employees like crap they make all this money yet they pay the employees pennies and talk to them any kind of way. And give you so many depts to do that it stresses you out and the myshare bonus sucks the employees work hard but do not get nothing. And they do not believe in giving their employees a weekend off.
