Weedeater One Mower - CAUTION!
Posted by Reethridge on 03/31/2013
ORANGEBURG, SOUTH CAROLINA -- After only 3 uses the steering spindle broke leaving the mower with no steering. After approximately 25 cuts the friction drive wheel assembly is worn out. Part alone cost $300. This mower is the most poorly engineered mower on the market. I bought the mower from Walmart. This mower is a safety and maintenance nightmare and should be recalled by the manufacturer Weedeater (Husqvarna). Brake cable fails, Seat can not be held in place, steering system fails, tires slip on wheels and destroy inner tubes although they are properly inflated. One only needs to read online reviews to know this happens to all Weedeater One owners. This company needs to reimburse consumers for the money robbed from them on the purchase of this mower.

Someone may be seriously hurt by this mower! Mine is less than 3 years old and all the above listed problems have occurred with very little usage. I only have a 1/4 acre lot and this mower has been used very few times to cut it.

This is a great warning for others. The thing about buying a piece of lawn equipment from WalMart, or to a slightly lesser extent Home Depot and Lowes, is that the quality has been squeezed out for the sake of price. With lawn equipment, you need quality. The brand alone should not be the deciding factor - what you find at these places under the label Cub Cadet, John Deere, Husqvarna, etc isn't really what it seems.

"I bought this mower from Walmart." Stop right there. Sure the price is cheap but did you really think that you were buying a quality riding mower from them? Of course you're having problems because it's junk, you get what you pay for. I bought a John Deere three years ago and have had no problems. This is a quality product built in the USA. I do the required maintenance and it runs like a champ.

The WeedEater One (we one) is the most poorly engineered piece of lawn equipment I have purchased. Luckily, I got a full refund after its failure in less than six months. This unit should have never left the labratory ... let alone the drawing board. Stay clear of the WEED EATER ONE. Sadly, it's a disgrace!
