BELVUE (AGENT SAID), WASHINGTON -- Worldwide Travel Exchange, Inc., which reportedly goes by WWTE, is made up of the rudest, nastiest persons that you will ever deal with. I booked an Asiana ticket through Sam's Club Travel. I bought travel insurance. The flight had to be canceled. Asiana said that I could get a refund with a 10% penalty. Sam's Club said that it was up to Asiana.
However, I have been calling Worldwide Travel Exchange, Inc., for hours at 1-888-205-3315. They put you on hold and never come back. I spoke to two ladies Majeal, Diana and a woman who sounded like Majael but said her name was Meja.
At first, they would just claim that I called the right number. I wound up calling numerous numbers and being transferred by Expedia and Sam's club until they said that WWTE was the company to call and 1-888-205-3315 was the right number.
That was the number that I originally had called repeatedly. I then called again and asked for a supervisor. I was then put on hold and after about half an hour was disconnected twice. Diana disconnected me after I said that I was going to complain about her and the others. I have not gotten any word on the refund. My impression is that they do not want to give a refund, but they have no legal basis to refuse. Thus, they just give customers the runaround to get them to just go away.
I will see if there is any government agency that I can complain to or the California Consumer Affairs Department. If you choose to buy airline tickets from Sam's Club, you should ask that nothing be done through WWTE. If you do business with them, remember that you were warned. If you have any problem and have to call them, you will regret having purchased the ticket, as I do. I have been on hold.
