GREAT Product and service!
Posted by on
Because my hair is neon red, and I refuse to change the color to obtain a job, I decided that a WIG was the best option for me. It would not only allow me to keep my current hair color(s) but it also would save me a great deal of time in the morning.

After trying to find a retail store in my area for wigs, I didn't have any luck. I found and liked a great deal of their products. Also, for the style of wig I was looking at the price was AMAZING.

I decided to take a gamble and order from them. If I hated it, I wasn't out too much money. ($40)

Before I ordered I called the number to ask a few questions. The person I spoke with was very helpful and explained how their color charts worked, was able to verify stock, and gave great suggestions on which type of wig cap was best for my hair and usage.

There was a part of me that was worried that the wig would arrive and look costumish because I chose a synthetic hair fiber.

The wig arrived Saturday, but because no one was home to sign for it, we had to pick the package up. This is a great feature for me as I have had mail stolen from my mailbox on more than one occasion.

When I opened the box, I was half afraid that the wig would be total garbage but knew that it was a gamble that I chose to take.

When I took the wig out, I was pleasantly surprised. The wig didn't look like a Halloween costume and is very natural looking. I put it on for my aunt and she loved it.

Then I went across the street to my neighbors house and showed them my new "hair cut". They were both completely fooled! They had no idea that it was a wig until I took it off my head.

So KUDOS to WOWwigs not only for great service but for great products and great prices! I will use them again and will most likely be getting another wig within the next few weeks!

The only thing is the pictures I took don't do it justice.

WowWigs Wow Wigs

It looks very natual...But I still think hair color or hair syle should be an issue for a's the experience that should count..but we all know that's not the kind of world we live in.
DebtorBasher on 03/18/2008:
I've thought about getting a long wig with curls, but my hair is longer than the wigs were, so there was no point.

WOW!!! WOW!!! That looks great! What a great way to present yourself in the professional world. Sure, we all might be jeans or pajama-pants at home - but when we want to look professional, we put on professional clothes. This is just part of your professional clothes. Great way to not lose yourself in the process.

DB- My hair is about twice as long as this wig is (It's about 3/4 of the way down my back.) This wig just covers my shoulders.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! I was hoping it would look natural to others as well! It does suck that the odd colors in my hair prevented me from getting a job... well I can't prove that much yet anyway.

Gothic, when I interviewed people for jobs at NCO, I never allowed haircolor or race or disabilities stand in the way of someone getting employement that I felt they qualified for. We had some who were 70 years old, some in wheelchairs, we had a guy well over 400 pounds and and oxygen tank and had to purchase a special chair for him to sit in and we had our gay and lesbians, and our very own punk and gothics and we even had several Pagans there as well. They were all very reliable and wonderful people. I can honestly say that our NCO did not discriminate against anyone...and no (to those who are about to say it), it wasn't because we'd just hire anyone off the streets, but they were truly qualified and had the experience. Oh, we even had a cross-dresser...only complaint we had about him was that they were allowing him to use the women's restroom...when we complained, we were told "you don't know she's really a he and we can not approach her to ask her without a lawsuit"...and we'd say...but when "She" pees, her feet are facing the toilet! LOL...I loved working there!

DB, let it go! NCO kicked you to the curb, they didn't like you and maybe it's because they don't like anybody, but it's time to stop living in the passed and move on. Get a life girl!
GothicSmurf on 03/19/2008:
I'd have loved to work for you then! Unfortunately, that's not the way a good majority of the Insurance industry works. People in the office love my hair, well all except HR who can't legally say anything.

GS, you would NOT have liked to work for DB. Drink another cup of what ever wakes you up because the first time she heard you toot she would have been all over you just like the flies.

Smurfie, didn't you used to be purple?
GothicSmurf on 03/19/2008:
Yeah, it's been a few months since I was purple though. I've been Red since Oct/Nov maybe.
jktshff1 on 03/19/2008:
Good look smurf!

Liddy, they did NOT kick me to the curb...I was with the very first group hired in and six and a half years later, I was the last one out, I helped clean out the place when they closed and Locked the door behind me! It was GECCS that kicked NCO to the curb, and all the way to the Philippines!

Gothic, I'd hire you in a heartbeat...and Liddy...just for the record, we also hired Tooters...our IT guy had a habit of walking by people and leaving a long lasting memory behind him...he and one of our collectors had contests...when they sat her next to me the first thing I told her was, "Your days of farting contests are now over".

You look great! I would never know that is a wig. Smart move to look conservative when job hunting. It is unfortunate that you have to "fake" it, but the business world doesn't seem to embrace originality in the workplace very well. Good luck!!! (I would have hired anyone with any color hair as long as they fit the bill, but, then that's just me, I guess.)
Starlord on 03/20/2008:
Great look, GS. I remember a movie where Marjoe Gortner played a National Guardsman with real long hair. When he was on duty, he had a short hair wig he wore to meet the Army's uniform requirements. I am in the SCA and shave my head, and have been considering trying to find a Prince Valiant or other period-looking wig for when I am in garb. Do you think they might have something like that?

Didn't Get What I Ordered
Posted by on
I ordered the "Wiseguy" wig for a Halloween costume. The wig shown has a man wearing the wig that is parted on the left side. For my costume, I needed hair that looked like this. I received the wig within 3 days of ordering, but it not only did not have the hair parted, it looked exactly like this wig:

I called WowWigs to tell them that I received the wrong wig, and he told me that they just sell whatever the manufacturer sends ( i.e. not his problem). I asked if I could get a refund (as it was less than a week before the Halloween party), but he said they would only do an exchange because people try to use them for Halloween and return them. Obviously, this was over a week before Halloween, but they refused to give me a refund. The problem is that no other wigs suited my needs. Also, I'm not sure if I would have received it in time if I had to mail it back and wait for another.

It's very irritating that a company would not try to fix the situation when sending the wrong product.

That looks more like a Beatles wig. I understand that they don't have complete control over the merchandise, but that shouldn't be your problem. Since it was before Halloween, they should give you a refund. If they don't have what you want, an exchange doesn't do you any good even if you received it in time.

I was conned by this company. I was sent a defective wig with hair pulling away from where it should be sewn. They gave me a return authorization number and then refused to honor the exchange by completely lying and saying it was heavily used
