Because my hair is neon red, and I refuse to change the color to obtain a job, I decided that a WIG was the best option for me. It would not only allow me to keep my current hair color(s) but it also would save me a great deal of time in the morning.
After trying to find a retail store in my area for wigs, I didn't have any luck. I found WowWigs.com and liked a great deal of their products. Also, for the style of wig I was looking at the price was AMAZING. I decided to take a gamble and order from them. If I hated it, I wasn't out too much money ($40). Before I ordered I called the number to ask a few questions. The person I spoke with was very helpful and explained how their color charts worked, was able to verify stock, and gave great suggestions on which type of wig cap was best for my hair and usage.
There was a part of me that was worried that the wig would arrive and look costumish because I chose a synthetic hair fiber. The wig arrived Saturday, but because no one was home to sign for it, we had to pick the package up. This is a great feature for me as I have had mail stolen from my mailbox on more than one occasion. When I opened the box, I was half afraid that the wig would be total garbage but knew that it was a gamble that I chose to take.
When I took the wig out, I was pleasantly surprised. The wig didn't look like a Halloween costume and is very natural looking. I put it on for my aunt and she loved it. Then I went across the street to my neighbors house and showed them my new "hair cut". They were both completely fooled! They had no idea that it was a wig until I took it off my head. So KUDOS to WOWwigs not only for great service but for great products and great prices! I will use them again and will most likely be getting another wig within the next few weeks! The only thing is the pictures I took don't do it justice.
I ordered the "Wiseguy" wig for a Halloween costume. The wig shown has a man wearing the wig that is parted on the left side. For my costume, I needed hair that looked like this. I received the wig within 3 days of ordering, but it not only did not have the hair parted, it looked exactly like this wig: http://www.3tailer.com/wise-guy-wig.
I called WowWigs to tell them that I received the wrong wig, and he told me that they just sell whatever the manufacturer sends (i.e. not his problem). I asked if I could get a refund (as it was less than a week before the Halloween party), but he said they would only do an exchange because people try to use them for Halloween and return them.
Obviously, this was over a week before Halloween, but they refused to give me a refund. The problem is that no other wigs suited my needs. Also, I'm not sure if I would have received it in time if I had to mail it back and wait for another. It's very irritating that a company would not try to fix the situation when sending the wrong product.
