Majicjack Complaint - Hidden costs and problems
HI, it's my first day on MJ. I spent 2 hours online chatting with customer support so far today. There are hidden charges and problems that I was unaware of. The young man at Best Buy assured me they have had no complaints.
It costs $20.00 to still have your existing phone number. I guess Quest charges that. The first hour was spent getting my old number back although MJ couldn't tell me how long it would take(it's been 11 hours so far) to reconnect to my old number so everyone that tries to call me gets that old message that everybody hears and thinks that you didn't pay your bill and your phone was shut off.
In order to have MJ keep working you must stay logged on 24-7 and if the electricity goes out you loose phone service where you wouldn't with Quest-etc.
The next hour was spent online chatting over why my other home phone doesn't work. Long story short I have to purchase a (splitter) and physically run a wire from my kitchen and plug it into the splitter connected to the MJ in my bedroom.
Also, I'm sure the MJ online person must be chatting with several other people at the same time because I always waited between 3-5 minutes for each reply.
I'm sure MJ will save me money but there will be unexpected headaches to go with the savings.
