Staples Complaint - Tech support not given within two weeks on an HP notebook
Resolution Update on 10/04/2012:
I had to deal directly with HP, not Staples, but I have a working laptop I am usuing now.
Staples ordered a HP notebook fo rme and when delivered it worked. Within several weeks the LCD had lines on it and stopped working. The technician pretty much said too bad you didn't buy our warranty. I said it is too soon to be broken and it should be replaced. But they would not accept the return of the product nor repair it for less than the price of a new one.
I tried getting it reversed on my CC but they have a receipt ( they didn't point out) that claims no returns on electronics after two weeks. Huh? What if you didn't use it right away and had in the box still? That does not seem a fair policy to customers on an expensive item!
The technicians are getting paid to get out of doing their jobs and seem unqualified or lazy. So where do you go? I called HP itself and that is a separate review. They just said we do not warranty anyproblems with the LCD. They blame you for not using the product properly. They have a defective product and that is the main problem. They do not honor warranty and won't admit their design or material is too easily damaged in normal usage. Thier customer interest is horrendous and this will come to bite them soon.
