Securities First Insurance Complaint - Claim Denials - Power Surge causing fire & replacement of home electrical wiring

Review by Linne.Morgan8 on 2011-06-23
A power surge was experienced in our home causing a call to the fire department. As a result, Security First Insurance company was contacted three times after the incident & all three times agent denied to take information saying it was not worth my time. Agent asked me to call someone else & a total of three attempts were made after the incident to file a claim. Business is not open in my time zone & when time was acquired while off work on vacation a proper claim was filed. It was denied because it was placed too late after the incident (which three attempts were made immediately after the incident & were denied).

I've never had an insurance company refuse to file a claim. If you disagree with your claim being denied, call your state's insurance commission to see about some form of arbitration.
