AAA Complaint - International travel Info & sevices

Review by grady7 on 2011-06-24
I currently subscribe to AAA plus and pay 0ver $90. 00 per year. Myself and my wife decided to go to Italy and went to AAA for conversion of dollar to euro, plus info on discounts for Venice, Milan, and rail travel. Also my wife needed an international drivers license with two photos. Here's why AAA really SUCKS.. I bought my AAA plus card five year ago in one county in NJ but because I didn't buy it in Passaic County, NJ my wife had to pay $ 10.70 for two photos rather than. 70 cents. When you convert dollars to EURO, they are in business to make a PROFIT on YOU. ( Whats my subscription for?) The current EURO price was 1.41 (6/15) yet they charged me 1.5109. (nice profit) Ok, next I went to the travel section of AAA to hopefully get discounts, info on museams, churches, rails travel to Venice, Milan, etc. Here's what they offered; A Map of Italy (period!) Boy, they do a hard job of getting their customers extras. My wonderful experience occurred at AAA - Hanburg Tpke - Wayne, NJ My suggestion is save your $, don't buy AAA plus! it's worthless.... Lastly, the attitude of the people in the travel section what that of tuff do- do, be happy with what you got!!!

NEVER exchange money for overseas trips in the US. You will always pay a premium.

Once in country, can usually get a better rate at a local atm, or at the airport.
