Lowe's Complaint - Bad doors, bad windows and bad screens
HIGHLAND, NEW YORK -- I purchased over 21,000 for a new kitchen, bay window, front and rear doors, and a Bilco cellar door. Kitchen was relatively free of trouble although one door is slightly bowed. I'm not a complainer and can live with that. Rest of products work in kitchen including spice drawer and knife and fork tray. Real problem with doors and windows are the bug screens which do not fit properly and bow inwards allowing bugs entry. Screen door has a plastic frame which is stressing on the one side (turning from red to white like it's being bent and ready to break; so was either installed incorrectly or manufactured wrong. So I sit here on the sunny side of house with the windows usually closed to minimize the bugs. Can't comment on line as Lowe's doesn't allow negative comments. Called and complained to Pella who came out twice and replaced screens with new ones who also bow inwards. Sounds like a manufacturing problem to me. Pella also gave me metal pins to drill into storm door to tighten up the bug screen, did not know how I was supposed to get these pins out to put in the storm door. I have the 800 number to Lowes to call next but don't expect results based on other people's experience. The Bilco door works perfectly but the rest of the stuff is poor quality products.
