Omeara Ford Complaint - Inconsiderate and insulting
NORTHGLENN, COLORADO -- I am shopping for a new Mustang. I have decided that I am looking for either a 2011 GT or a used specialty (such as a Roush or GT500). Well, I contacted Omeara Ford via the website because I had a question about one vehicle they had. After a couple of questions, I knew it wouldn't meet my requirements. The salesman emailed me after, and informed me that they had just received a 2009 Mustang Roush edition. He provided pictures and it was beautiful! I had driven the Mustang GT already. He kept encouraging me to "come and check it out", and indicated I should do so quickly, as it wouldn't last (I know, they always say that).
After a couple of days, I made the time to go in and "check it out". It seemed a fine example except that the tires seemed to have excessive wear for the mileage. Well, when it came time to take it out for a test drive it (because face it, a Mustang is something that you buy with your heart, not a spec sheet), I was informed that I would not be allowed to test drive the vehicle because they stated it was a high performance vehicle. Well, it is, but not when compared to a brand new GT. It is a specialty vehicle, so I could almost understand that aspect.
I was very disappointed by this, but really I was more angry that they had not informed me of this in their multiple encouragements of "you should come and check it out soon!" Not telling me this showed absolutely no consideration of my time.
Furthermore, they weren't taking me seriously. They would say "out of respect to the new owner..." I guess they were pretty sure it wouldn't be me?
The salesman contacted his manager, who went it to check with another. While this was going on, the first salesman started a very insulting line of questioning; "How do you plan on test driving this car?" He was accusing me of wanting to drive recklessly and abusing the car!"
The were pushing for a signed or initialed intent to purchase, before I had even driven it. I could already feel that this was a very high pressure dealership. Reading other reviews, I believe I may have dodged a bullet by getting out.
So, I would not recommend even going to this lot. They had no consideration for my time, they started turning the pressure on early, they didn't take me seriously, and accused me of being a joy-riding teenager. I'm pushing 40!
