Hotels.com Complaint - Ripped off & scammed
I have booked with hotels for an island in Greece. I made the reservation early and got an email that my reservation was confirmed and I didn't need to take any other actions. Also my credit card was charged immediately with the full amount. The email also advised that I didn't need to contact the hotel, because my reservation was confirmed.
When the day that I would travel came, I phoned the owner of the hotel to inform him that I was going to be a late check-in, and he told me that there was no reservation at all in my name and I shouldn't even bother to come to the island because everything was booked (it was a national holiday in Greece - 13 June).
Then I phoned to hotels.com customer service. The number is: +442030247879. After many tries to communicate, they told me that I would get a refund and they also send me an email. Up to this time, 3 weeks later, no news from them and no refund. I have already paid my credit card bill, and I didn't even get my holidays. I send another e-mail but I didn't get a reply.
Pathetic customer service, for a company that comes in the first page of most search engines, when searching for hotels. My money are gone and I can't do anything.
