Frigidaire Complaint - A Pantry not a Refrigerator/Freezer
GEORGIA -- Ran it at Max for first 2 weeks, thinking it is new and the weather is hot. Frig part was barely cold so got a thermometer which registered in danger zone. Freezer was fine...then. Called for service and told had to wait 2 days (and take a day off from work). Upon returning home on the day I called, found refig temp at 60 and freezer defrosted. Over $300 worth of food gone spoiled. Called customer service and as a result received a $25 check (an insult) for food loss (not to mention 2 days lost pay which I knew there was not a prayer of getting). I had to stay home for service man to come and tell me the unit did not work because the sealing was corrupt. Called AMEX because seller said I had to see if it could be repaired. AMEX said they would not pay the bill because unit was 3 wks old and I was dis-satisfied. Gave me leverage with seller and I got another manufacturer (GE-fingers crossed for good luck). I tried to review it on the Frigidaire site but it will not accept a derogatory writeup. I will fight-perhaps in small claims court(?). Because they sent a $25 check and I will not cash in I feel they have accepted responsibility. Ihave pix of full frig and freezer of ruined food.
