Enterprise Rent-A-Car Informative - Hidden Surcharges
MOUNT JULIET -- Beware of Enterprise Surcharges - they do not appear when you book on the internet, but they slip them in. I had proof of my own collision insurance, so I was able to decline theirs, but they slipped in $3.00 per day "coverage" for roadside assistance described only by a three-letter code, which they said afterward was a surcharge that could not be declined. I had AAA roadside assistance, but they said I still could not have declined the bogus "coverage".
Then there was a 3% surcharge (computed on the entire bill including the other surcharge) for being in the state of Tennessee.
Their tactic at point of sale was to give me such a hard time about proving my own insurance that I didn't look at all the other details on the invoice.
Beware. Enterprise is now as bad as Alamo about cheating you out of every penny. Fortunately, Budget is still pretty honest, but I expect to be skeptical if not antagonistic in all travel and rental bookings from now on.
