Told this REFUND would be returned after 3 to 5 days (6/21) still no REFUND 6/29 - Complaint
Review by thesorce3 on 2011-06-29
After QVC received satisfactory go their product back at their location 6/21/11; I was informed that a REFUND would be issued. I have called 6/21; 6/22/ 6/23/ 6/24; 6/25 checked with bank...nothing; 6/27;6/28 and finally 6/29. I was told that they finally processed this REFUND. What incompetence and misinformation to customers. I informed them on numereous occasions that I required know why there has been such a hold-up for this REFUND. ONLY; 6/29/11 at 5:30 PM after; being very upset over this misguided policy that I found out that a REFUND was being issued today! This is bogus, and totally unprofessional for all the customer service reps that were involved in this misguided deceiption to customers. This policy and practice needs to be looked upon as being illegal. Please, forward this complaint to the proper authorities! I feel that this practice of REFUNDS need to be handled better and more professionally; but organizations like QVC.

It has been my experience that refunds from most retailers take 1-2 business cycles to show up on your credit card after processing. To process a refund in 6 business days is not unreasonable in my opinion.

QVC said a refund would be issued but most likely did not intend for you to interpret it as the same day the item was received in their warehouse. It is not illegal to take 7 days to issue a refund credit. And if the refund was issued today, 6/29/11, don't expect it to hit your bank account or credit card account for at least several more days. Just the way it is....

That's true, Sophia. Refunds are not issued the same day the returned merchandise is received. I believe QVC invoices even state that credits might not show up until the next billing cycle. QVC probably receives tons of returns every day. I'm sure the merchandise has to be checked before a credit is issued.

Earlier this year I returned something to Lowes the same day I bought it. The refund immediately showed up online and posted the next day. In fact the refund posted before the actual charge.

I don't understand this malarkey that it takes 5, 6, 7 or more days to process a refund. There's nothing special about me, my bank or lowes and it took a day. If a business is so back ass backwards that it takes them more than a couple of days to issue a refund I say avoid that business. Good luck on getting your refund.

Great Review!

When you return something to a store, an employee has the opportunity to immediately check the item and issue a credit. That's not the case when a returned item is shipped. For obvious reasons, the process takes longer.

I did a few returns to Amazon this year and it was about the same 7-10 days. Sounds normal to me. It's annoying but not out of the ordinary.
