Citicards Complaint - Never Good Service/Bad Products and Experiences
I first signed up for a Citi card in college because a friend was doing one of those fund raisers. When I decided I didn't need the card it was horrid trying to cancel it--I was so flustered that when finally cutting up the card I actually cut my hand and had to go into the ER for three stitches. I vowed never to get a Citi card again. That was until I saw an offer for $50 off a flight. I didn't want to get the card, but final caved and figured I'd just cancel as soon as it was paid off. I was approved, got the ticket, and when I saw the online activity, didn't see the credit of $50. Because the $50 deduction hasn't shown up yet, I emailed them, but that took forever because I kept being told by the website that my account didn't allow that (wtf?), and received two emails that my message was forwarded to the appropriate person--and then I never heard anything. So, I called. And that person said I have to wait and the amount will show when the period closes--he couldn't do anything else, like up the closing date. I hate this company because it's so difficult to reach anyone and get anything done. After I pay off this card (that I wish I had followed my instincts and not gotten), I will NEVER use Citi again. If it were the only credit card, I'd use cash and check. The terrible service and frustrations are not worth the "deals".
