Amazon.com Complaint - False advertising re: one-day delivery
Because Amazon advertised on June 30, 2011,a certain wine rack as being available for 1 day delivery which would get the rack to me before the July 4 party we were holding, I ordered from Amazon. There were other two day options which I would have used otherwise. The next day, when it was too late for me to select any of the two day options as July 3 is a Sunday so there is no delivery, Amazon sends me an email saying:
"Unfortunately, we are unable to ship the item(s) as soon as we expected and need to provide you with a new estimate of when the item(s) may be delivered: "Oenophilia Alexander 40-Bottle Cellar Wine Rack" Estimated arrival date: July 05 2011"
This is unethical and is equivalent to bait and switch. They failed to deliver on a promise of a next day delivery, but by advertising what they could not deliver, they locked me out of other 2 day options that would have worked for me. So BEWARE: AMAZON DOES NOT DELIVER ON ITS ONE-DAY DELIVERY OPTIONS. It overpromises and underdelivers.
There is no resolution. It's too late. AMAZON screwed me because now, in upstate New Hampshire, for me to get a 40 bottle wine rack of decent quality within a two day time frame, I would have to drive 2 hours each way to the nearest store likely to carry one of these and I have no time to do so.
