McKenney Honda in Gastonia NC. Complaint - Dishonesty
I decided to look for a used car from a major dealership as opposed to one from a car lot or one of those buy here pay here places to have a peace of mind about the kind of purchase. A used car under $10.000 was all I could afford. I thought they would be more or better reputable to not advertise or even sell a car that they knew was not under the conditions of being for sale. After speaking to the sales person and the sales manager, They both said and promised that the Toyota prius I was there to purchase had been fully reconditioned. That was a lie. It turns out that no more than one month after buying it, the steering wheel started vibrating harder and harder to the point that it was very dangerous and unsafe to keep driving it at one point. Even all the warning lights came on in the screen and dash board display. I took it in for a diagnostic to another Toyota dealership and they said that it had a lot of problems with the fuel injectors and and other stuff that was even more complicated related to the steering wheel. After spending about one thousand bucks for the repairs, it was only a matter of time until it started doing it again. Well I took it in again for service. Now I was told by the Toyota technicians that I would be looking at close to $4.000 for repairing all that is bad on this car. The staff at Mckinney Honda in Lowell, NC. more than likely new that this vehicle had defects and they had the nerve to even display it out, post it on the Internet and sell it. I would have expect this kind of ripp off from any other ghetto off the side of the road kind of dealership but from any other place such as a Honda one. Yes. Specifically the liers at McKinney Salinas Honda. There must be a good reason for them to not be registered under the BBB because it looks like they are not.
