Enterprise Complaint - Reservations are not honored by Enterprise
I had a reservation set up with Enterprise in Saraland. I flew into Mobile from my home in Stockton California and had a Shuttledriver take me from Mobile Airport to Saraland. I planned to be at my destination in time to join my friends at a concert in Atmore. I don't know the Mobile freeway system at all and was a little stressed being in a hurry, 63 years old, and 3,000 miles away from home by myself. Better to relax in a shuttle after a long flight.
I arrived at the office 10 minutes early and when I went inside the employee scolded me
"you should turn your cell phone on. We don't have any cars. We had a convention come through. We have one back at the Mobile Airport so you need to go back and get that one." I was to give the Shuttle driver another $40.00 to go back and fight traffic on an unknown freeway, and miss the concert. The shuttle driver drove me to Atmore for an additional $135. and I arrived in time. My friends had to take me where I needed to go until Brewton Enterprise could provide a car three days later.
I asked Enterprise for the $135.00 extra that I paid the Shuttle and they have not answered my claim 3 months later. Their first response was that they solved my problem by offering the Airport car and that's all they're obligated to do. Why should an older woman alone, 3,000 miles from home be faced with no transportation? It was only by chance that the Shuttle driver decided to wait to be sure I got a car or else I would be standing in Saraland, with a cell phone that didn't work. I guess he got a few bucks more from the convention folks or they were more deserving of the car I reserved. I will never depend on them again.
