Sears Complaint - Sears repair policys
My lawn tractor suddenly stopped engaging so I tinkered with it for a while and then broke out my manule. It told me that the problem was an electrical clutch that would have to be replaced. I call for Sears to repare it and told them what to bring with them so the repair could be made on the same day, as they were three weeks out. I also told them to brintg a carberator for my model because it was running a bit rough.
Sears makes it clear that you will be charged for a appt. weather you agree to their estimate or not, so when the tecnition gave me a Quote I signed his slip and he went to work.
While he got started I got to thinking that the price for the parts ( I had told him to bring ) was high so I went on line to Sears parts and found that they were charging me 30 % more for the parts. A total on the carb and clutch of 180 dollars.
I confronted the techniction and his response was he knew nothing. But he gave me a # to call and their response was to tell me that it was my falt for not having pre ordered the parts, and since They had my signature the would not refund the amount they over charged me.
SEARS IS A JOKE. I have purchased many big ticket items over the years but will never step foot in their store again. They may have screwed me out of $ 180. but I will do everything in my power to let people know how dishonest they are and hopefuly help someone else from this customer abuse
