Quirk Subaru, Bangor, ME Complaint - Service
My sons girlfriend, who leaves 3 hours from Quirk Subaru has a 2010 (1 year old) Subaru Forester. Her "check engine" light came on a week ago, she called down to Quirks and told them what had happened. They told her she would have to have an appointment to have it looked at. So they made her an appointment on Friday July 8, 2011 at 11:00. So she drives down..mind you 3 hours down. She gets to Quirk and they take her car in to the garage, put it on the machine to read what was wrong..comes back and said it is your fuel sensor. And she was told that there was a recall on a part in her car. They then proceed to tell her that she will need to come back the next week to have it fixed. So off she goes (3 hours. Note: Not only did she have a 2010 new car..but her sister has the same car only with fewer miles on it, but nothing was mentioned about her car having the recall. So that was brought to their attention, they said, "oh yeah, well she should come down with you and have hers done at the same time" Erica while waiting for her car to be checked, asked for a loaner car to go the mall, they then tell her that they don't give out loaner cars. So they shuttled her to the mall, while she waited. When she gets back they then told her that they will see her next week. I just cannot believe that they would not lend her a loaner car, so that she could leave her car here, and have it fixed while she drove home with the loaner and back in a week to get her car. Putting less miles on her car and less gas. Make any sense? NO> So I call, they tell me they do not give out loaner cars if the car is still "drivable", so I say, well she had to drive three hours to get told she needs to come back again in a week. He then tells me that they do not give loaner cars to anyone under 21. Well, duh I am over 21, all I had to do is go with her..why didn't that get mentioned before???
Lesson learned: NEVER BUY A CAR FROM QUIRK SUBARU IN BANGOR MAINE!!!! EVER!!!! I hope that they are able to see this letter, or at least someone that is considering a car from them, think twice. they are not called the "Quirk Jerks" for nothing. They live up to their name.
