Allstate Complaint - Allstate's Online Customer Portal
Recently Allstate redesigned their customer service online access. I have been a customer for many years and used the previous online account access with minimal issues, although not perfect. The new updated site has issues I reported earlier this year. I could not access all my accounts. Around April 2011 it was all better. I don't go online every day, but on occasion when I want to make sure everything is in good order. I view auto insurance and my life policies.
Last night I went online and it appears that my account is no longer active. I cannot access it at all. I called Customer Service and she tried password reset twice and it didn't work. I tried to request my password reset and a message indicated password reset sent to my email address on file, but I never received an email. I tried again this morning, thinking through the night all would be better, but nothing.
My concern is that no one at Allstate seems to know why this has happened or provides a good explanation. My only recourse is to change companies since my trust in their abilities to keep my information and accounts safe has waned. I had a similar issue with the old WAMU, now Chase, when my online access to my account was deleted mysteriously and could give access to anyone with my information to set-up a new online account. I left that bank as well. Sorry to say after years of no issues, when a company provides internet services, they best be certain they understand and can manage the technology extremely well.
