CLC Legal Referral Service Complaint - CLC Unreliable for Lawyer Referral
GRANITE BAY, CALIFORNIA -- Beware of CLC Legal Referral Service. They verify that the attorneys they refer you to are a member of the State Bar, but that's all. I asked for a referral to a Special Education Attorney and they referred me to an attorney that had checked off several boxes on his application to CLC including Special Education. By the time I found out he didn't know Special Education Law it was too late. He kept my $2,000.00 retainer. When I complained to CLC they admitted to me that an attorney tells them what types of cases he is willing to take. There is no assurance they the attorney is truly qualified to take that type of case. In my case the attorney turned out to be a Real Estate Attorney. Since Real Estate is slow he was taking on other cases that he was not qualified to take. CLC took no responsibility and doesn't guarantee that the lawyer has any special qualifications. I asked very specifically for only a special education attorney and was robbed of $2,000.00. Using CLC is not a guarantee that you are being referred to the type of attorney you need. This is an unscrupulous and unreliable business. Just go the the Bar Association website to find your attorney. Beware of CLC.
