Holiday Inn Complaint - Service and Cleanliness - Room readiness and hotel cleaning

Room readiness and hotel cleaning - Complaint
Review by Broommaster on 2011-07-16
DESTIN, FLORIDA -- Recently booked a 3 night stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Destin, FL. Booked through Expedia.com. Our check in time was 4pm. Upon arrival at 4pm, our room was as the previous guest left it. We were directed to to to another room on another floor. The bedsheets on both beds were dirty, and there were pubic hairs on one of the sheets. The carpet in the room and in the hallway was filthy and had an odor. The walls in the room had dirty marks on them. We requested that the sheets be changed (which they did). We observed that "clean" sheets were placed on the hallway floor during the readying of rooms. I don't believe Holiday Inns in general are operated in this manner. We were very disappointed with our stay. Although $136.00 isn't necessarily a high price, it's a lot to pay for such accommodations.

WOW, i have stayed and many holiday inns, and have never experienced any things like this.

contact the holiday inn corp, and see if they will make things right with you.

Over the years, I have acquired the habit of traveling with a light sleeping bag, just because of experiences such as this. I rarely, if ever, sleep under the sheets of a hotel/motel.

I must stay in the same class establishment as leet60 - I usually feel a bit dirty after staying in a motel.

Ugh, sounds terrible. Although its in Pensacola, I would suggest Margaritaville. I went in May, and it was very clean and offered excellent food and service.

Nicole, why I am not surprised that you stayed in Margaritaville?

I stayed in Destin for a month once on business in a huge condo overlooking the ocean. I remember the breeze blowing the floor to ceiling drapes around. That was a long long time ago. Ah, the days of per diem.

Funny you mention that. While at Margaritaville, I loved keeping the balcony door open and watching the wind blow the drapes around while sipping a beer in total peace. Ah. I even shot some photos if it. Something about it was captivating.
