Sears Informative - Informative
NEW YORK -- Sears puts their nose in too many high risk businesses. They sub contract to local businesses for home improvements who are shady and highly unreliable at best and dishonest and unreputable at worst. Their quality control of electric or gas engines machines is very lacking to the point that it's likely their products will fail prior to the warranty period or just after. One has to be suspect when you see so many repaired mowers for sale inside or outside their stores. Their sales people lack training and updates to keep customers informed and are usually young unmotivated school kids. The only reason anyone shops Sears is due to their "Satisfaction guaranteed" policy or their stores would resemble a Western Ghost Town. The sales people try hard, but they are just overwhelmed. Sears ineptness starts at the top of the greedy pyramid and filters down to the poor souls that must make it happen under threats and gestapo tactics of pushing customers to use or obtain Sears credit cards, Repair protection agreements and such. Morale is low, pay is so so. Working conditions are terrible with little or no air conditioning and customers complaining of humid, stuffy stores to associates instead of the managers or Hoffman Estates. Most sale items are not in stock. Delivery and service are sketchy propostions at best. Sears policies are easily overcome with some tough talk. Craftsman tools returns are easy. Perhaps too easy as their stuff doesn't hold up and finding a replacement could be stressful. There will be a straw that breaks the camels back and that's the direction they're heading in. Sears, the Store you love to hate is becoming more and more of a real thought process instead of Sears, the good life at a good price. I know more and more people who are swearing off Sears and willing to pay more if they have to at WalMart, Home Depot, Target, (Forget Kmart) Kohls, and Lowes just to not have to deal with Sears. They have become a horrible company to work for, shop in and deal with. If their competitors ever get it right, Sears is doomed. If HD and Lowes puts empahsis on quality, service, delivery and low prices for appliances and Lawn and Garden tools and equipment, Sears is doomed. Even Lands End or Martha Stewart or Bob Villa won't save them.
