Red Robin Complaint - Manager with an "I just don't care about you" attitude - Service

Service - Complaint
Review by normaA on 2011-07-17
SAN ANTONIO , TEXAS -- I took my kids to have lunch at Red Robin, and my son stands on the padded side of the booth and all of a sudden he disappears. The seat of the booth slipped down and my son ended in the hole of the both. After a few minutes the manager comes around with a very lazy tone asks "what happened?" so I fill out the complain form and that was it. After paying for our meals, I have the manager come back just to let him know that for being manager he is lousy. He showed no empathy for my son, or me or the situation.

I never heard an "I'm sorry for what happened" "do you want or need to call any medical service?" nothing! This man just does not have any service skills!

I'm very glad that your child wasn't injured. What I will say though is that these booths are not meant to be stood on, but sat on. They are not a place for a child to stand on or climb all over, because there is a good chance of something like that happening. Just thankfully your child was okay, and instead of getting angry with the manager you should stop your child from standing on seating areas in restaurants so they don't hurt themself.

I'm sorry your son fell through, but as posted, booths are not made for standing, and it's up to us, as parents to supervise our kids and keep them safe.

You said he didn't offer to call an ambulance/medical services, so I'm wondering was your son seriously injured?

You expected the manager to apologize for you allowing your son to stand on their furniture that is designed for sitting? The manager probably was relying on you, as the parent to determine whether medical services were necessary, as well as his eyes that evidently registered the fact that your son appeared fine, if not shook up a little from the unexpected surprise of the result of abusing the furniture.

Red Robin? One of our members was banned from that place. Don't hear much about it, which is fine by me.

Wasn't that member banned from Red Robin, because they went streaking during the peak dining hours?

;)

THAT is the one! You have a photographic memory, Skye.

wow sounds scary to say the least. hopefully your son is okay. the manager could have at least asked if he was okay, and offered you the choice of medical treatment if you felt if it was required.

very helpful review!!

I agree that she seat probably shouldn't have just come loose. But where is your parenting in letting your child stand on the furniture? Maybe this is close to home for me, but I deal with children all the time climbing all over the barrier rails of my ABM machine as if it were a playground. And parents barely even watching them or telling them to stop. But by george, if one were to fall and hit their head..

How old is your son? Just curious.
