Battlefield Tire Compliment - Did it the right way

Review by fuzzyE on 2011-07-18
SWANSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA -- While staying in Emerald Isle NC on vacation I came out of a restaurant to find one of my rear tires "hissing" - I picked up a drywall screw during my travels. I asked the hotel desk clerk if there was a tire shop nearby and he directed me to Battlefield Tire - 4 or 5 miles away in Swansboro NC. I put some more air in the tire and drove over to Battlefield. The owner of the shop told me that he only repairs flats the "right" way - from the inside. This is a far cry from the way practically every shop in NJ ( my home state) does it - the generally insert a plug from the outside. My tire was fixed in 20 minutes or so and did not need to be rebalanced because the tech knew what he was doing. What started out as a bad experience turned out well. Ed "fuzzyE" K

I have been to many different tire repair facilities in NJ and every one repairs tires professionally. The last time I can remember a plug being inserted from the outside was back in the 70's. Maybe we go to different classes of repair shop.
