McDonald's Corporation Complaint - I Had to Pull Ahead for These Lousy Fries?
ALGONQUIN, ILLINOIS -- You would think I would have learned my lesson about McDonalds after the English Pub Burger incident a few weeks ago, but apparently I'm a slow learner.
Hubby and I were free from Baby Clutzy for the weekend so we went to see a movie. After the movie, we decided to grab a bite to eat. Since McDonald's was close, we pulled in there. I ordered my usual 2 cheeseburger meal and Hubby got the Big Mac (I offered to get him another Pub Burger, but he turned me down, lol). When we got to the pickup window, the employee handed us our drinks and asked us to pull ahead because they were waiting on fries. Disappointed at having to wait longer for our food, but cheered that our reward would be fresh french fries (try saying that 5 times fast), I pulled ahead and our food was brought to us within 3 minutes. I did a quick bag check to make sure all items were present and accounted for, and we drove off. Hubby handed me my burgers first (a slight break in my usual routine as I normally eat the fries first, but I wasn't going to argue with him). After the burgers, we grabbed our fries at about the same time. I don't know what they did to those poor potatoes, but I they tasted TERRIBLE. Maybe they didn't add enough salt, maybe the fryer grease needed to be changed, since the fries tasted like the grease they were cooked in. Maybe both. But the fact that even I couldn't stomach the fries (and I LOVE McDonald's fries) only meant that they were truly disgusting. Two bites and we were done and disappointed. I think it has soured me on the Golden Arches for awhile.
