Target Complaint - Employees have no training in regards to coupon policy!
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- I went to the Super Target in San Antonio at Loop 1604 and Blanco Rd. The scotch magic tape was on sale for $0.60. I had a coupon for $1.00 off any Scotch Magic Tape. The cashier said he needed the CSM since the coupon exceeded the price of the item. The CSM came (after about 5 minutes of waiting with a line behind me) and she (Leslie) stated that they couldn't take the coupon since it was more than the price of the item. I showed her the Target coupon policy which states they can adjust the coupon down to the price of the item, if the coupon exceeds the price of the item. She said she didn't know how to do that and she wouldn't do it. I told them to take off the tape and I spoke to another manager on my way out who said my coupon should have been honored. By this time I was so upset and frustrated I just left. I went home and e-mailed Target corporate office. I cannot believe that a supervisor has no knowledge of the coupon policy and has no idea how to adjust a price on the register!! On top of that, every Target coupon that was scanned would not go through and the cashier had to manually put it in after checking to make sure I got the exact item! If Target has this much trouble training its employees on how to take coupons and has this problem with their own coupons then they should simply not take any coupons. It is so frustrating that I don't even want to shop there anymore!! They need to adjust their policy and simply say "no coupons" - they will lose business, but they are already losing business because of how embarrasssing, stressful and uncomfortable it is when you try to use coupons at their store!
