Wal-Mart Informative - Walmart Does Not Always Check for Id When Writing Checks, a Major Problem!
SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA -- Well, I go to the west side Walmart, in Sioux falls SD, a lot to shop for my son and i. Usually to buy diapers and other necessities. While the products I usually get are good, its a problem with the cashiers. Most of the cashiers rush us so fast through the check out, they don't ask for id. I know, some people would consider this a problem....but I wonder if someone were to take my checkbook, if they could cash it this easy. It seems they have done it a lot for me. And they aren't regular cashiers, I usually have a different one each time I go. I always would show my ID any ways but they would say "don't need it". Also, they don't require you to sign a check at all (its electronic). So I feel this is another big problem that could cause people to write bad checks.
So, I guess its informative to those who lose checkbooks and if anyone uses it there, or a complaint to Walmart because its not a very good idea in this age to let someone just give a empty blank check, with no id required. I would think that would make it a little harder for the bank to work with a dispute with no signature....This is Sioux falls, SD location. They have done it numerous times (i sign it any ways) and well, I don't think its very safe.
Everywhere else in SD, except Walmart, requires id to cash checks or at least a license or id number on the check. Maybe its no big deal, just thought I would tell people about this any ways. but this is just my honest opinion on this issue.
