Palmer's Toyota Complaint - Charging For Parts Not Installed In Auto

Car has moltly smell bought car 2010 one year old been dealer several times. Told by dealer not furnished with car. Yet the manual shows a filter quote. Toyota does not furnish one.

Most automobile owners manuals are printed for several models of the same vehicle. Some of the parts listed my not apply to your vehicle.

This is true with some cars - there is a place for a cabin air filter but it isn't included when the car is delivered. So, the air just flows right on through. In my older Volvos, the lack of a filter actually let debris through which got stuck on the A/C evaporator, and eventually rotted it because of rust. The average owner would never know they should go buy one to help keep their A/C evaporator from rotting.

I don't know if one was supposed to come with your car or not.

This is the most unprofessional service department that I have ever experienced at a Toyota dealership. They refuse to honor Toyota s factory warranty. They need new management in their service department. Go to the other Toyota dealerships in the area for service to avoid the hassle and inappropriate business conduct. Toyota is a good product so take your business to another dealership.
