US Airways Complaint - Charging military for their bags - Counter personnel told me military pays for our bags too.

Counter personnel told me military pays for our bags too. - Complaint
Review by classylace501 on 2011-07-22
Flight 1166 San Antonio to Boston

I checked in using the Kiosk. It asked for number of bags and showed a charge. When I asked the dark haired woman behind counter if military paid for luggage, she stated yes.

Very much surprised since the military always suppliments the airlines and pays 3 times the going rate.

Now I see in the policy that military are not to pay for first bags...so where is the training for these folks?

It looks like the policy for active military was effective June 10, 2011. Maybe this representative does need training. What date was the ticket purchased?

US Airways allows up to 4 bags for free up to a maximum weight of 100 pounds. The only military personnel who receive this allowance are active military personnel traveling between assignments or deployments.
