Delta Airlines Complaint - Unable to get a refund since I was ill and did not have a doctor's note
I was scheduled to fly from Tampa on 7-11-2011 on DL#1329 to Rapid City and to return to
Tampa on DL#4692 on 7-15-2011. I requested a full refund but was refused since I could not
get a Veteran's Administration Doctor (I can only see every 4 to 6 months), to write the
letter. As a 100% , Totally and Permanently Disabled Veteran, the VA Doctors have
said it's up to me to realize when I am too ill to fly. I expect a full refund credited
to my Mastercard. Legally, the sirlines can't collect double fares for a single seat. I
feel that the agent I talked to could have referred me to someone else who could make
an exception and refund my ticket price.
I will not fly with them within the year; they said I could recoup a percentage (about a fourth) of what I was charged, about $497.00
plus some air miles credit if I did rebook a flight within the year. I expect a full credit to my MasterCard.
