Radiology Assoc of Atlanta/Fayette Community Complaint - Billing Practice - Radiology Reading Bill

Review by lkcook1 on 2011-07-25
I recently received a bill from a debt collection agency for the reading of an X-ray. According to the hospital and the insurance company BlueCross BlueShield my bill was paid in full. This company in my opinion has bad billing and customer service practices. You can't pay your bill online and there is know way to confirm that it is a bill that you owe. Will I have a problem with the credit report agencies over this $18.83 bill that I didn't think I owned?

Do you have your EMB's (statements of estimated medical benefits) that show what portion of the bills were paid by insurance and what portions are your responsibility? Do you also have a record of what you paid them.

Keep in mind that a bill for the reading of an xray is generally sent by the radiologist and is separate from the cost of the xray.

The person who reads your X-Ray is not the same person who took the X-ray. Generally, it's going to be a seperate bill. You don't actually see the person who reads the X-ray. A lot of people get confused when they get a seperate bill because they don't recognize the name of the dr on the bill. That's because they never see the person who reads the X-ray
