Food Lion Complaint - Poor Customer Service - Meat Department
Meat Department - Complaint
I have shopped in the Food Lion Store for over a year each and very time I walk in I buy chicken breast and have them split it. My wife does not like thick chicken breast. for the past few months they have done so without any problem. Sunday I ask to buy 10 chicken breast that were on sale for 1.79 per pound as advertised. I was told that I could not buy them and that the price was wrong. But the price was marked and a customer prior to me had just walked away paying the same price. There was no limit sign and no additional signs on how many I could purchase. then when I asked to get them sliced I was told that I was taken advantage of them. As a paying customer I found it shocking that they would mark a price, tell me I can't by the item and then tell the customer they were taking advantage of that price. I thought it was a sale price. but I guess if you don't fit there time limit on what they can and can't do you simply have to read between there lies.

When I buy boneless chicken breast (typically on sale) I bring it home and use a meat mallet and flatten it out to the thickness I like. The only explanation I can think of for the butcher's behavior is that they sell the chicken in a thinner cutlet form and it costs more. The thin cut boneless, skinless chicken in my local store is more expensive than the regular.

Did you ask to speak to the store manager? If that is the advertised price and without limitations, you should have been sold them at that price.

Food Lion usually has a limit on sale items. I've had problems with them honoring their listed prices, in the past, which is why I rarely shop there.
