Market Street Bakery Compliment - Excellent Ambiance, Service and Food

Review by Starlord on 2011-07-26
492 N MARKET CHEHALIS,, WASHINGTON -- We went to the Farmer's Market in downtown Chehalis, and realized I had not eaten before we left the house. We went to the Market Street Bakery & Cafe at 492 N. Market Street. We were very impressed at the decor as we entered, and I waited at our table in my power chair while Crystal wnt to the counter and ordered our lunch. She had a Roast Beef Deli Sandwich and a root beer, while I had the Roast Turkey Sandwich and coffee. My turkey sandwich had a very generous amount of thinly sliced turkey, swiss cheese, bacon, tomato and what I believe was Romaine lettuce. This was all on sourdough bread so fresh I was surprised it was so beautifully sliced. Crystal was amazed at the amount of meat on her sandwich as well, and we both agreed that the food was terrific, and we hope to return. The coffe was hot and full-bodied in flavor and the root beer was Mug in a can. The prices were very close to say, Subway, but in my opinion, much tastier. We don't know when we will be able to eat out again, indeed, we are not even sure that we will have a home, as half of our income is in the form of my So-so Security. We will keep you posted, and I hope we can do more reviews, as our county phone book has ten pages of restaurants listed. I would love to post a review of Mackinaw's Restaurant, but with a place that is only open from 5 PM to 9 PM and requires reservations, I dread to think what it costs. They claim dining on the big city level.

Alain, we have run into several restaurants we had never heard of before, last week it was a little sandwich shop a block from where we ate today, found them when we went to the Farmer's Market, and by taking the scooter/power chair from home and going, it gave us a chance to really look at what we missed when driving the truck. There are several stores downtown that aren't exactly wheelchair or scooter friendly, and there are a few we have no trouble getting around.
There is another restaurant not far from here that advertises steak and eggs for $6.99...Kit Carson....want to see about trying that one as well, never been there and it is scooter distance for us.
