Lustine Toyota Informative - Buy at Lustine Toyota if you want to waste time and be financially disadvantaged
The recent $3,500 cash for clunkers is deceptive advertising designed to draw you to the showroom. A careful reading of the gimmickry reveals that the 3500 is not for a clunker but a fully operational car. $1500 may be the clunker price but the promotion vehicles cited are all way overpriced. Check it out yourself. I had an experience where I made a deposit for a car and they sold it out from under me even after giving me a VIN. This crew is unscrupulous. As I said, go to Lustine if you wish, but you'll return home feeling poor or as though you went through one of those old fashioned wringer washers. I'm a retired CPA; so if they did it to me, imagine what they do to those who are a bit less experienced. Incidentally, they offered to get me another car, but I told them to take a hike loudly in the middle of the showroom and took my business a few miles up I-95. While that dealership isn't perfect and plays games also, they play closer to the rules you expect in business dealings. It is an ownership ethics issue. They are marketing to take advantage of those in search of used cars. They will Win because there is no effective oversight and gov't can't afford to oversee those sorts of things.
Only you the consumer can have an effect by communicating to all of your friends and associates how you were treated by folks such as at Lustine Toyota.
