Toys R Us Complaint - No Interest in Customer Satisfaction
FLORENCE, KENTUCKY -- I purchased a Do & Discover Digital LCD Metal Detector from Toys R Us in Florence, KY. When we got home and assembled the metal detector, we discovered the shaft was missing.
This is frustrating because of the cost of gas, the time it takes to drive to the store and wait in line for a replacement. It was also frustrating for my daughter because she wanted to play with her toy.
I called the store and asked for them to leave a replacement for me at the service desk. I also asked for a $5 gift certificate as a compliment for my trouble. They refused any type of compensation.
This is the second time I have purchased an item from Toys R Us that was missing parts. The first time it was a Dora the Explorer kitchen. Both purchases were made at the Florence location using gift cards.
I called Toys R Us Customer Service and waited on line 30 minutes. I received an "incident number." Now I'm waiting for a return phone call I doubt I will ever receive. I asked Toys R Us customer service for an email address or direct phone number of a supervisor but was denied that information.
When I go back to the store to get a replacement for this product, I will check that all the parts are there and check to see if it actually works before I leave the store.
Next time I receive a gift card for Toys R Us, I will auction off it on Ebay.
