Hoselton Auto - Rochester NY Complaint - RAV 4 Part Swap - Floor Mats

We took our RAV 4 in for the clip placement- due to the recall. We had two sets of premium floor mats - the best quality carpet floor mats and all weather mats that we paid much extra for when we bought the car new in 2009. When Hoselton service returned the car to us, we noticed that the preium carpet floor mats had been swaped out for poor quality ones and the all weather mats were missing. We immediately spoke up and our Hoselton took back the poor quality ones and returned both sets of our premium mats.

A rip off was avoided only because we were keeping a sharp eye. If you can't trust a repair shop not to swap our premium parts for sub par parts on something like floor mats, imagine what they could do given time and opportunity for more important parts. We will never go there again and are warning our friends as well.

Did they give you an explanation for switching the mats?

This is a great review. I wonder how often something like this happens and people don't even notice, or what else might have been switched that can't be seen. I wouldn't trust a repair shop like that to work on my car in the future.

Is this "clip" recall related to the accelerator? My first thought this was due to the whole floor mat uninteded acceleration fiasco, and they replaced them on purpose.

However, the fact they gave them back doesn't support my theory...

Oh, I didn't think of that. If that is the case, I think they would have said so.
