Hardees Complaint - Food ordered - new chicken sandwhich

Review by lynn_fhner 9 on 2011-07-30
I stopped at Hardees in Carthage, Tn. I had received a coupon for the new chicken sandwhich, when I ordered it, I was told that they did not have it because they forgot to thaw it out the day before and that it takes 36 hours for it to thaw. This is crazy. These coupons were put in our paper this week. Also, I do not believe that it takes 36 hours for a chicken patty to thaw. I recently ordered a hamburger, got home and there was not a top to the bun. I work at our local hospital and, believe me, there are a lot of complaints about this Hardees in Carthage, Tn.

Is the OP insinuating that the local townspeople frequent the hospital that she works in as a direct result of the food at Hardee's? If so, then why on Earth would you want to subject yourself to the same thing?

Having worked for Hardee's and a few other restaurant companies several years ago, I can say that there are specific procedures for thawing frozen items to maintain food safety. 36 hours does sound like a long time, but they just can't run chicken (or other frozen items) through the microwave and give out a good product.

This location, however, should have been notified of the coupon drop far enough in advance and planned to have enough product available.

I don't know for sure about Hardee's. It's too far from my house, but they are running a commercial now with using fresh real chicken on their tenders and breading them in house, too. Maybe they do the same with their patty sandwiches?

Carl's junior is the equivalent of Hardees out here. I tried the new chicken sandwich it was pretty good.

It seems possible it may take 36 hours, depending how cold the freezer is and large the package is. I'd try going back, and then you'll know for sure if they are feeding you a line or feeding you the new chix sandwich.
