Comfort Furniture - Lowell, MA Complaint - Do Not Buy Anything From This Store!

Review by jburket25 on 2011-07-31
Do not buy anything from Comfort Furniture. I purchased furniture in May, left $1650 deposit. Called about delivery end of June and was told it would be another 2-3 weeks. Then I received the June 28h letter about Comfort Furniture filing for Chapter 11 protection. They took my money and never placed my order for furniture. I have also called the attorney named in the letter and have left 4 messages without any response. I have called Comfort Furniture and left 4 messages without response.

I faxed a letter to the attorney to put him on notice. My next step will be to call the Attorney General's Office to report the non-response of the attorney.

There is an EXCELLENT article on this matter here:

I won't try to rephrase what is there, but it covers many aspects of this store's demise and what your situation is. Several people have already spoken with the AG's office, but it would be smart to file your own complaint.

If you bought back in May, you may not be able to prove they knew they were closing, and will have to settle for a claim with the bankruptcy court.
