Reputation.com Complaint - Scam alert! - Online reputation monitoring system (A JOKE!)

REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA -- Today I got this unfortunate e-mail that says: "Dear XXX, Congratulations on signing up for MyPrivacy Free Edition."

I did not signed up for any service. I have never heard of this company before, nor I am interested in any services of this nature. I called the contact number on the website. The conversation went like this:

ME: Hello. I just got an e-mail congratulating me for signing up for your company's service when I have never signed up for anything.

Reputation.com rep: Ok, sir. Goodbye then.

Seriously. I called again, and this time some fellow told me that they don't know how they got a hold of my company's e-mail address and sent that phony e-mail. It's my opinion that these people gets your e-mail address some way, some how (sounds shady to me!) and send these e-mails to get people to check out their website and sign up for the service. It's a scam to get you to sign up! Be aware!
