Jim Woodlard's World Gym Complaint - Billing Procedures
PALM BEACH GARDEN, FLORIDA -- Over a year ago I walked into my local World Gym (Palm Beach Gardens location)and was sold a ONE YEAR MEMBERSHIP. Close to the end of my membership I had to move out of town. When I called the gym and tried to cancel my membership I was told my contract would end after the year was up. Being busy moving I never thought about it again but, Two months later at my new address I was sent a bill for $123.00 I thought must be a computer error and continued to find a job and settle into my new home( my fault I was to busy to look into this matter).Apparently in my contract there was an automatic renewal clause that the salesman didn't make me aware of and my bill added up to $210.00 dollars.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
I am willing to pay for the months that added up after I was sent a billing on 6/22/01 in the amount of 87.00 dollars. But I don't want to pay for them letting my bill add up to 123.00 before contacting me.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
