Corporate Office of Happy Tooth, Fayetteville Road, Durham, NC Complaint - Rude and Disrespectful

DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA -- My daughter went to Happy Tooth and we were very happy with our office visits, the staff was nice and polite. My daughter decided she did not want braces, therefor I was expecting a partial refund. During the inquire of the amount and expected arrival time of the refund. I was treated rudely by the cooperate office for the first two weeks, they screened by phone calls, then I spoke with the director who was very cooperative and immediately received a phone call back from a woman who told me that the person who does the refund was absent from work and would be back on the following Monday. When I call on Tuesday of that week the assistant, did answer the phone, only to put me on hold, then tell me she would call me back. Which she did with a reply that she was told it would be ten days!!!! Worse experience I ever had. I paid on time, give me my money back on time!!!

How did you pay? Check? Cash? Credit card? The reason I ask is that if you pay by check, it takes a while for the receiving bank to clear the funds. The business wants to make sure you aren't ripping them off by writing a rubber check and trying to get your money back before it clears. I hope you get it back soon. If not, contact the Better Business Bureau. If you used a credit or check card, go through your bank or CC agency to recoup the funds through a dispute.

I'd stay away from the BBB. They will NOT help you get your money back. They are not there for the consumer.

As Miss L, says, how did you pay them? I know it's crazy they get the fund immediately, but you have to wait and wait and wait for your refund.

Skye, this BBB debate comes up often, and I hate to see a blanket statement like "the BBB will NOT help you get your money back."

As I have stated every time I see a statement like this, the BBB helped me twice get refunds of $200+ and $750.

While I agree the BBB may not be helpful in some cases, I have found them to be so. The two companies in my case were not BBB accredited, which may help because BBB has no horse in the race.

I note that this business is also NOT BBB accredited, but has an A+ rating with 4 resolved complaints. Good sign. Just my .02

I've also had good luck with getting money back through the BBB. I went through them because I was getting scammed by a software company. I wrote them about it and got a check 1 month later.
