Verizon DSL Complaint - Disconnect termination fee

Review by I4u2fer3 on 2011-08-04
I had landline service with Verizon for close to 10 years and 2 yrs ago added a $28.99 DSL. line. I discontinued the phone line 1, maybe 1-1/2 years into DSL service, no problem except it was a close-out billing nightmare for 2 months. I then short sold my home last November '10 and wanted/willing to transfer my DSL to my new residence just 2 miles away. The representative said house I was moving into had "old copper lines" and not suitable for straight DSL line. They ever so wanted me to go with a $59.99 FiOS triple pkg. Yea, that force-fed pkg deal! I declined due to budgetary concerns. Then I got a termination fee of $70 when I clearly had no length of time contract other than their "implied contract" they use to probably weasel out of every termination fee dispute. Then as if I didn't already have problems with my credit, they sent me to their henchmen collection agency, AFNI where it was a horrible company to also deal with and I lost that battle no matter my counter argument. This is one, worthless, conniving and pathetic NO customer service company who doesn't care a damn about you or anything else except their bottom line. They won the battle but I will Win the war once I cancel my 2 V-zon Wireless phones at $100/month. Makes that $70 look cheap.
