NCO Financial Systems Compliment - They deserve more credit - in general..

in general.. - Compliment
Review by Jon Doe on 2011-08-04
BLOUNTVILLE, TENNESSEE -- People love to blame others with out thinking, ie. Irrational. These people are doing their jobs (with over 100 offices handling different clients) to the best of their ability with what information is provided. Did you ever stop to think that if you keep receiving calls it may be that who you received the call for in the first place, may still be giving that same # out as their own? And another thing, collection co. Do not have a calling list per the #'s they have were provided for contact, solicitation co, now they do have a calling list kinda like picking random #'s from a phone book. I still receive calls for my ex-husband, but I know that I always will just because we were married...doesn't matter if I change # number...which I have...in computers they will always have me listed as a possible contact or info to find him. And as far as same name wrong person, maybe someone has forged your signature for something, or stole your identity. So you then need to file a police report. If it's the same name but wrong info and wrong ss#, my god let it go...they report by ss# and your not the only person in the world with that name. And it is illegal to call someone that owes a debt and right off the bat say things like..if you don't pay right now we will garnish your wages...you people saying things like that are probrably just mad you're in collections at all...it happens to all of us..some don't care, some do... If you didn't receive notice and you moved..did you put in a change of address? Again some care some don't.. People are so lazy and not proactive.. So if you go to the hospital and you knw you have a deductible, if you haven't received notice then pick up the phone and call the facility or your insurance co. Some things you can't help, and maybe you did all you could and still ended up there. But when your in collections if you want to save your credit then just put in on a credit card...or get a loan. no one wants to do that but if your credit is that important to you then quit pouting, suck it up and do it instead of trying to find a way out of it. There seem to be now more than ever people with scores in the 550's-650's that have 0 in collections, but people with scores of 651-800 that have up to 16 things in collections. The people with more money sorry I'm making you a statistic, try to get away with more I guess, you expect better treatment, but you have the ability to pay all of your bills, and the ones in collections, you just want to keep your 10,000.00 discover card down. I don't quite think it's co's fault. People act like these co's are preditors but there not. The clients try to rch you and if your on vacation or outof the country then that's on you...have someone get your mail or have the post office put a hold on it or have it forwarded to you. The client's don't have forever to call think how many people they deal with on daily basis. Thats why there are collection companies.. So I'm sure that some process's do need to be improved, and I know just with any company there are people that probably should just stay at home with their bad attitude and skip work. But I see and hear people upset that nco and all other collection co. s need better customer service, "YOU ARE IN COLLECTIONS" they aren't calling you to sell you a vacation. I have spoken with my pharmacy trying to refill a prescription and the tech looked at like me like I was asking a random person an ungodly favor, and like she would just like to kick me in my face. But I thinks people posting complaints.. it's just a HUGE exageration, and they just didn't want to hear the truth, and when someone advised their options not on their terms they got pissy and complained. they're probably bitter people anyways... Don't for if you don't pay your bills...and something happens to you, they go to probate court...and someone in your family will then be stuck with your debt... You won't slip away by saying, there is no estate...they will always find someone...all this is just the way the world works now and everyone just has to find their own way of dealing with it.

NCO seriously harassed me to the point where I was becoming stressed out for no good reason. My bill from AMEX was sent to collections (NCO) because I lost my job--nothing I could do about it. Instead of working with me, they didn't even care and sent it along to collections. Even when I paid, NCO called me for my next payment. This is a company with a reputation for harassment. I wouldn't pay them a compliment in a million years, especially when I was trying hard to pay my bill with no income. I'm glad it is totally paid off now but it will take forever for that charge-off to get off my credit report. :(

" Don't for if you don't pay your bills...and something happens to you, they go to probate court...and someone in your family will then be stuck with your debt" ~~ As a general statement that is false. The only way a family member can be 'on the hook' would be if they are co-owners or co-signers of the account.

People shouldn't get too stressed by NCO collectors. Annoying but harmless. You can talk to them or hang-up. You have the power they don't. And they know that and don't really care. It's just a numbers game.

Interesting Write-up.

NCO kept harassing me even after they knew the debt was not legit, it was previously paid to the General car insurance and NCO kept up the harassment even after being told I was not allowed calls at my place of work.

I wrote them and showed them the debit charge from the General insurance also telling them in writing to stop calling me at anyplace at anytime.

Nothing has stopped this scummy agency.

I see now why they get sued so much.

Gee, I missed this review when it was first posted. Being a former NCO collector/skiptracer/quality assurance supervisor...ya gotta be in this position to understand the 'other side' of every collection agency complaint.

The OP brought up a lot of good points.
