Champion Tree Care / Arlington Heights Illinois Complaint - Blows Stumps - Do Not Use

Review by smokey69_19 on 2011-08-06
Hired Jim from Champion Tree Care in Arlington Heights Illinois to do a trim on our mature elm tree at the intersection of Nerge and Rohwling Road to accommodate our less than exceptional community in Elk Grove Village IL - as they have a three way traffic signal (installed 8 years ago) in our trees - no complaints until they had a red light camera installed and complaining about our trees blocking their money maker. .. anyhoo we hired Jim - oh he was nice in the beginning - took awhile to get him to our home to trim, and he spoke with the police, so he knew what was being required. Lots of excuses but he finally got to our home trimmed tree. Police/red light folks/village still complaining - so we contact Jim he promised! he would come out "and make all right" days, weeks, 2 months go by - and nothing. But low and behold - someone in the meantime comes out and BUTCHERS our two trees / severely damaging not just what was hanging over the fence, but they literally came onto our property and cut huge limbs to the base of the truck of the trees. (unauthorized cutting and trespassing).

Contacted Jim - told husband, oh thats right, I need to go out there and fix - you dumb lumox - your lack of communication and customer service caused the severe cutting of our tree by some unknown person(s) -- the village says they didn't do and that it is not our our job (officer hucklebuck - investigating property damage is your job - jerk) - Jim at Champion obviously didn't do (though I do wonder....) so some ghost with a chainsaw hacked up our trees...because Jim was to lazy to complete a $425 job we hired him to do.

Please stop by the intersection of Rowling and Nerge Road and see what happened to our trees because someone we hired did not complete their job.

I would definitely NOT recommend this company --- lack of caring towards trees, lack of communciation abilities to customer, etc etc....

(But remember I would also not recommend moving to Elk Grove Village either... but that is another 3 cents....)

i too have seen many so called tree trimmers do hack jobs and ruin trees.

unfortunately, mature trees never recover.

very helpful warning!!

If there were power lines involved, I would contact you local power supply company.

It might have been your city chopping up your tree. I came home from work one day and found an established tree cut down one side because some branches were blocking a traffic sign. They don't have to call you in this area even if the tree is on your property. Another time, the same tree might cause some later problems with the electrical lines so it was chopped up as well. Usually, it's because of complaints from neighbors.

As far as paid tree cutters/trimmers...I've been there. Most for some reason never come back for those promised areas and won't return telephone calls. I don't pay any of them anymore until the job is COMPLETE. Thanks for your reminder for any tree service company.

NH, the OP says that the city denies that it was their doing. They're probably lying, though.
