LifeLock Complaint - Hassle to cancel the service - ID theft protectino

ID theft protectino - Complaint
Review by rmesds on 2011-08-06
I went online to Lifelock to cancel my service. There is no way to cancel online that I could find. I did send an email but decided the next day, since I hadn't yet heard back, that I should call. I did. Specifically told the CSR that I did not want to get into a long discussion as to why I was cancelling; I simply wanted to cancel and be on my way. 20 minutes later he is still giving me his spiel and I am getting more and more annoyed. Finally I told him I assumed the service was cancelled; if it was not and it was charged to my credit card I would contest the charge; have a good day and I hung up. Yup, you guessed it, he called back to tell me how offended he was; how he had a wife and a child and was a good person; that he wasn't finished talking to me when I hung up. I wasn't sure if I was talking to a CSR or in the middle of group therapy. Anyhow, shame on Lifelock that trains their CSRs to make it so difficult and annoying to simply cancel their service.

I can't stand those subscriptions that do not allow you to cancel online. It's a marketing ploy so you have to call in and hear their sales speech before you can actually cancel. Proactiv did that to me so I look to make sure I can cancel online before signing up now.

I always prefer canceling online also. I agree they do this so they can give you a sales pitch to stay.
