Toyota Corp. and Seeger Toyota dealership Complaint - Factory defective paint job

Review by dkess516 on 2011-08-07
Recently purchased A "Certified 2008 Toyota Camry from Seeger Toyoya in Creve Couer, Mo. Within a few weeks, The paint at the roofline (exactly where the roof meets the windshield) has begun to bubble up from rust forming beneath the paint. Toyota Corp. and Seeger Toyota deny this is the problem, stating the cause is "stone chips". They know better. Two different independent body shops ( one they directed me to) have stated the problem is derived from from factory defective work. They still refuse to acknowledge this. I am not surprised that a car dealer will not accept the facts. For a corp. with the reputation that Toyota has ( or in my opinion, HAD) is infuriating.

One possible cause is Toyota is now using a more "environmentally friendly" paint. Problem is this paint doesn't standup very well as is susceptible to bubbling & stone chips. I drive a Camry on I-95 everyday and the paint job is really getting beat-up. Good luck getting Toyota to admit & fix this problem.
