centurytel Complaint - unreliable service - phone service
STARKS, LOUISIANA -- I recently moved to louisiana and got phone service with centry tell. besides the poor customer service and the outragous cost, my phone service goes out every time I loose electricity. I have told centurytel about this on four diferent occasions and they said they would take care of it, and the last time I called them they said that I am the only one that complains about it so it must be my cordless phone. I told them that I took the old rotory phone and pluged it in on the side of the house in the test jack and it still does not work, and besides, I have a ups (un-interuptable power supply) on my cordless phone and my computer, (something they are supposed to have on there remote cabinets)I have to drive 8 miles to call the power company to tell them that my power is out and besides, my neghbor said that he has the same problem. they told me that they need 6 or 7 differant complaints before they can fix the problem, the problem is there are only 3 people living on my road. I have asked them what would I do if a power line falls and starts a fire, I cant even call 911 because my phone wont work, they told me to use my nighbors phone, I said apperently you are not listening to a word I just said. there is no cell phone service in the area and the nearest pay phone is 8 miles away. thay say they are going to fix the problem but this is the fourth time allready and I know the next time the power goes out its going to happen again, I wish I could fire centurytel but there is no other service available in my area. What can I do?
